We did it! We made it to Friday; another week done! Another 5 days of January ticked off never to return…we are closer to spring and, have you noticed, the sky is still a bit light at 5pm…it’ll soon be 6pm and then…spring will be happening!

YES!

Oh and if all that happens over winter is you get through it until spring comes then that is just as good as all those people who are undertaking Dry January or Veganuary or any other self-improvement. Just making it through winter is okay!

Anyway! Here’s a s**t load of people celebrating at weddings because that’s exactly what I love taking pictures of - people having an amazing time at parties and weddings…

It’s that time of year when I have no weddings to shoot and so as an outlet for the creative juices and a desire to not have to sort the attic out I have decided to do loads of themes and model shoots over the winter.

Yesterday I met up with and whose wedding I was a second shooter at to take some pictures of Molly in Kinver Edge woods, on a theme of Taylor Swift’s Folklore and Evermore album artwork.

It’s not just a case of shooting for shooting’s sake - it’s keeping sharp, it’s working with another person, it’s trying new ideas and testing new kit and methods, and it also great fun to shoot without any pressure at all!

The album art for Folklore and Evermore is fabulous and the iconic shots of Taylor’s hair and her in the woods were something I’ve wanted to try out for 4 years, since they were released.

Maybe I’ve not used my own creative juices enough, and I’ve leant far too heavily on the inspiration, but it’s a first shoot in over a month, and hopefully the first of many to come over the next couple of months.

I’m looking for someone who might want to go to a beach for a winter beach shoot, and also someone who might be interested in some portraits in a city (either Manchester or Liverpool) so if you are interested in posing for me - either on your own, or with your partner - just drop me a line!
