Soooo...if you have clicked or "Liked" this page, you're probably intrigued to find out more..
For those that don't know me, I thought I'd start with telling you a bit about myself, my musical journey and why I have finally decided to set this up officially after nearly 10 years DJ'in...
Being brought up on UB40, Reggae was always going to be my first love with music, but it really kicked on in the early 2000's when I got introduced to 90's Reggae / Dancehall in teens by an older cousin. I searched for ages to trying and find that compilation album that introduced me to the likes of Aswad, Buju Banton, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Color Me Badd, Ini Kamoze, and Dawn Penn to name a few...as from there my love for this music had kept growing and I spend as much time keeping up with the latest tunes as I do digging through the history of genre, and have a particular love for Bob Marley.
During my mid-teens I jumped on the Garage vibe...despite not old enough to go out raving, I still built up a nice collections of tapes, notable the "Pure Garage" series, which stand the test of time, as I'm still rinsing these tunes today! My passion for keeping up with latest tunes meant that I would normally spend Saturday afternoons recording the RnB Charts on my mum's retro Sony Stereo to listen back during the week on my way to school. Good times!
With my addiction to music ever growing, it was only natural that it would lead me onto something a bit heavier, Drum & Bass. It was the tune "Feeling" by Shy-FX that got me hooked, with the same cousin introducing me and taking me to my first ever rave, One Nation - Valentines Special at Brixton Academy 2006. Looking back it had all the markings of what I now call an old school rave. It was dark, moody, the baseline rattle though you and everyone was skanking hard with not one camera phone in sight!
From there my thirst for music continued as I headed to my first festival, Global Gathering in 2007, as a last minute decision one Friday! Making a beeline for the Random Concept Tent and raving along to Faithless / Basement Jaxx on the Main Stage and Paul Van Dyk and Ferry Corsten in the God's Kitchen Tent, what a great decision that was! I went back every year for next 7 years, until it finally finished in 2014!
Over the years you will have found me at various raves, festivals, parties, with the notorious "Rent-A-Party Crew" (you know who you are), as resident ravers at The Source Bar, Boomtown & various spots in and around London & South East (Not forgetting the Rave in the Woods Series). We also managed to take things international with Innovation in the Sun / Dam, Hideout, Sun & Bass, with things naturally slowing down as I started a family in my 30's...
So why the Mobile DJ Page, and why now...? Well, I've been around long enough now to have built a solid depth of knowledge (both old and new) on the music I love to listen to, rave to and share with people when behind the decks. So I thought I'd create this page and see where it takes me....
If you're liking what you hear and if you're interested in having a proper party, with proper music and proper vibes, then please drop me a DM to find out more!
