Thank you to all those who have supported our afternoon singarounds and occasional one-off concerts during 2024. It has been an absolute pleasure seeing you all and sharing your songs and laughter. It means a lot to us that so many want to come and sing, listen, play and chat - it’s what life and folk music are all about. And thank you to all the people who have volunteered and helped out in so many ways.

Yesterday, we had our last ‘barn’ sing of the year - yes I know we all squeezed into the house. We couldn’t take a chance on it being warm enough in the barn. We are so sorry that we had to draw a line on numbers but if we had tried to squash one more person in, we might have ended up bursting into the neighbours living room! The music was sublime irrespective of having rehearsed or not (you had to be there 😂). For those that were able to come, your generosity in the raffle was, as always, amazing and we have sent £50 to Crisis at Christmas.

ANOTHER BOBBING BARN CHRISTMAS

For those that have already confirmed they are coming tomorrow - we have just seen a post saying that the dual carriageway A249 is closed in both directions at the Bobbing roundabout. Traffic is being taken off at the exit before. Just follow the filter off the 249, go straight across the roundabout (exit signposted A249 Sheerness, Bobbing) then take the first exit, opposite MacDonalds. You are now back on the usual route.

We are so sorry that we have had to limit numbers for tomorrow, to those that have already confirmed that they are coming. We had to move the singing into the house as it has been much too cold in the barn.

If we don’t see you, we wish you a very happy Christmas and hope to see you very soon in the new year.

The event has been moved into the house due to the cold weather and we are now completely full, please don’t turn up on
Spec as we won’t be able to fit you in.

We’re very sorry to miss you this time but hope to see you at the next one.

We're looking forward to welcoming you here for 'Another Bobbing Barn Christmas'.

We have now taken the decision to move the event into the house due to the predicted low temperatures next weekend.

Unfortunately if you haven't already let us know that you're coming it means that we are now full. This is due to the available space in the house and so that everybody can have a seat and be comfortable.

If you've already told us that you're coming then that's fine - you're definitely in!

All the other details for the afternoon are unchanged only now you wont need those wooly hats and gloves.

Hello Bobbers!

After a wonderfully successful afternoon of live music from local performers followed by a spectacular concert from The Lowly Strung we’re asking, who would you love to see performng here in the intimate surroundings of Bobbing Barn our great little music venue set in the Kent countryside ?

We’d be really interested to hear your suggestions, don’t think we can can stretch to the likes of Steeleye Span or Fairport etc 😂

There really is only one place to be over the 1st - 4th August and that’s at the fantastic Family & dog friendly Chickenstock Music Festival.

Set in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside this has to be friendliest and most welcoming big festival we have ever attended.

We are so happy to be returning again this year!

Amongst the many fabulous bands playing over the weekend, you can catch Shake Me Up Sally onstage on the Saturday and later in the evenings after the last band has finished remember to pop into the beer tent for some late night shenanigans when Capella will be hosting a singaround - it’s your chance to give us a song, join in with the choruses or just chill out for an hour before bed.

What fabulous weather we had on Sunday for Shake Me Up Sally and their show ‘Two Rivers’. Thank you all for coming and making it a great afternoon, sharing your songs and joining in all those wonderful choruses. We have had so many lovely reviews of the day and the concert. And thank you to Norman for running the singaround, to Chris, Claire and Ben for keeping us all fed.
