We have made so many special flowers this week. Every single tribute was chosen as it symbolise something really special about that person. I always say a funeral should be a celebration of someone's life and I hope our flowers help people remember what was so special about their loved one.
Yes funerals are really, really sad but i know that these special flowers help people to remember the good times and it is your way of showing your love to those that have stepped on ahead of us.
As always Me and Mum have made these flowers with all the love we possibly could, we think about the families all the time whilst we are making them for you and we give 100% of ourselves to make sure these flowers are perfect on the day and Jason delivers them with so much care and compassion. Hours and hours are spent making sure we get them just right
We do remember every single tribute we have ever made and some make us smile and others make us shed a little tear but Thank You to the families for trusting us at Plantwise Florist to make these flowers on your behalf. I hope we did you proud.

We are always honoured to make special tributes but this customer travelled all the way from Kent to collect these as he only wanted us to make them. His family has used us in the past and he said he will always use us. I say it time and again we really do have the most loyal and best customers that always support us. I hope the Wreaths we made today bring comfort and they tell a story about your loved ones life. A black taxi, a star, angel wings and a uncle wreath.

Wow I would love to go and see this flower festival. The work and skill that has gone into making these flowers is mind blowing. We love doing bespoke tributes but this is on a whole another level. The Debrecen Flower Carnival, or Virágkarnevál, takes place in Debrecen, Hungary. It's one of the country's biggest and most well-known events, with over 50 years of history and 3,400 performers.
Truly incredible work and skill and can you imagine how fantastic the atmosphere must be there.

People often ask me why do our flowers last longer than others. The answer is all our flowers are kept in specialist coldrooms. They are giant fridges. We correctly prepare and condition all the flowers when they arrive and then place them in the temperature controlled coldroom which allows the flowers to drink and properly hydrate before the flowers are given to the customers. This means even on the hottest day like today our flowers will stay fresher for longer.

Some Tips for keeping flowers alive at home is always make sure the flowers are kept in the coldest area, They need fresh water every few days and the flower food added. You can add a tiny bit of bleach to the water to stop bacteria and always use proper flower food that arrives with flowers. Cut stems on a sharp angel. Always keep away from heat or direct sunlight.
Do not put flowers on a window seal or in direct light. Imagine placing a bottle of water on the window seal and you will see just how hot the water would get, if the water get warms the flowers can not drink up the water quick enough and will go limp.

P.S We also keep our wine and prosecco in the coldroom too so it arrives already chilled to be enjoyed straight away. After all Who wants warm prosecco :)

As part of the National Florist Day celebrations on the 8th June, Local Florist Sue Kyle of Plantwise Florist based in Canvey Island, Essex was named as one of the 2024 Faces of Floristry. The Awards, which were by nomination only, saw winners selected by a panel of expert judges who not only considered the reason for the nomination but went on to investigate each nominee in depth before making their final selection.

Talking about their success Sue said to have been chosen amongst the hundreds of other super talented and incredible florists and florist industry experts is one of her biggest achievements and she is so proud to represent the floristry industry and be given this award.

Being able to work with such beautiful flowers every day is a real privilege and we are so grateful to serve our customers in Canvey Island who have supported Plantwise Florist for over 30 years. Sue said she has the best and most loyal customers in the world.

Plantwise Florist has always been a family run business and Sue also wanted to honour her amazing and very talented Mum Jean. Jeans floristry skills truly amaze me and her bespoke funeral tributes people travel from miles away to collect.

Sue also wanted to honour her Husband Jason. He is the one that delivers the flowers to the customers, he represents Plantwise Florist and he will greet you with a smile as he hands you your birthday flowers or he will take the greatest care when setting out the flowers for display at a funeral. Jason is so kind and lots of our regulars customers love him.

Organised by industry publication Florist Trade Magazine together with The Good Florist Guide, the 100 Faces of Floristry element of National Florist Day was a way of recognising all the talent that makes up the wonderful world of flowers, floristry and the people who make this multi-billion-pound industry tick.

The weeklong run up to National Florist Day gave the flower industry the chance to show just what goes into making the magical creations, goosebump inducing designs that not only touch every part of life and are there to celebrate every occasion in life from happy to sad and all points in-between but flowers are scientifically proven to be good for the soul and mind.

I have just found out that I am on the list for the final 200 names and I am in with a chance of becoming 1 of the 100 faces of floristry. To say I am proud is a understatement.

I have been a florist since I left school and floristry is the most wonderful job in the world. We get to create the most amazing flowers and flowers touch everyone.
Plantwise Florist make flowers for the happiest occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, births and weddings, Our flowers pick you up when you feeling unwell or need a bit of encouragement and our flowers bring comfort on the saddest days or at funerals.

Being able to work with such beautiful flowers everyday is a real privilege and we are so grateful to serve you our customers in Canvey Island who have supported Plantwise Florist for over 30 years. We really do have the best and most loyal customers in the world.

But I could not the run the shop and make so many of you happy with our flowers without my amazing and very talented Mum Jean. Jeans floristry skills truly amaze me and her bespoke funeral tributes people travel from miles away to collect. We bounce ideas off of each other and are always coming up with new and exciting floral designs.

I also couldn't run the shop without my amazing Husband Jason. Jason is the one that delivers all your orders, he is the one that will greet you with a smile as he hands you your birthday flowers or he will take the greatest care when setting out the flowers for display at a funeral.
Jason is so kind and lots of our regulars love him. He also does all the heavy lifting, prepares and conditions all the flowers when they arrive to ensure they are correctly looked after and hydrated before they reach you. He also gets all the orders together and does a extra check to make sure they are perfect before they leave the shop.

So Team Plantwise want to thank you our customers but also the floristry industry for considering us to become 1 of the 100 faces of floristry. To be voted by my peers for this award is truly humbling and a fantastic achievement and we feel really proud.

I feel so proud and Wow … how exciting. I have just heard I’ve been nominated as a Face of Floristry in the 2024 National Florist Day celebrations. This means I now have a chance to be one of the 100 chosen to represent the wonderful world of flowers when the day kicks off on June 8th. Am so grateful to my community for having faith in me and what I do!
