Last day to catch ‘Grace of the Sun’ the giant light poem you’ve all been taking snaps with! Tonight will be the last night to see this spectacular installation.

'Grace of the Sun' is a large-scale art piece by Robert Montgomery artist made using the Little Sun solar lamps designed by Olafur Eliasson and Frederik Ottesen, realised in Glasgow through collaboration with the local art community.

Measuring 11 metres by 5 metres the giant solar-powered light poem will illuminate every day at sunset as a poetic beacon of hope for Glasgow.

The solar lamps Little Sun produces provide power to many of the 600 million people living without electricity in the Southern Hemisphere. After their brief installation in Glasgow, the lights will be donated to Little Sun’s work on the ground in Sub-Saharan Africa. Little Sun has already brought solar light and power to over 3 million people on the African continent.

It’s almost time to say goodbye...

But don’t fret! We have a banging boogie lined up for you all to celebrate the amazing things that have happened in our space. It will also be a chance to reconnect with those you’ve met across the last two weeks, reflect on all we have achieved, and plan actions for the future.

We will be joined by DJ Butho The Warrior from Radio Buena Vida who will be spinning all strains of house music, jazz, psychedelic, electro, disco & African music for the occasion.

Wrap up warm, put on your dancing shoes, and see us aff with a bang!

Free, 18+, and do a cheeky lateral flow before coming down.

**PROPAGATE WORKSHOP RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY 14TH 1-4PM**

Time to get muddy take 2!

We’re really excited that we could reschedule this workshop that had to be cancelled last weekend because of the weather.

The Propagate team will launch Soil and Soul at The Landing Hub, a project where they will engage with different communities to initiate new conversations about soil, to explore why soil matters and how people relate to it culturally, historically and geographically. This will lead up to The World Congress of Soil Science 2022 to be held in Glasgow next year. Expect engaging information on different types of soil and how this relates to our waste ground site used for the Landing Hub.

Propagate will test soil with participants, looking at its composition as compared to healthy growing mediums, to explore this further. There will also be three soil-related, participatory drop-in workshops interesting for families, creatives, growers, community groups and anyone wanting to learn more about our environment.

We are delighted to be welcoming the Seed SistAs -Cultivating Change to Saturdays fundraising party for Baltic Street Adventure Playground

The Seed Sistas are a formidable foliage loving duo who will be bringing their work, "Voices from the Hedgerow" to a live public audience for the first time.

They are published authors, public speakers, medical herbalists and eco-activists. Allowing the plants to guide them to ever more ridiculous productions, they'll be passing on knowledge about how to learn about the plants that grow around you and to empower yourself to use them as simple remedies in the home.

The Seed Sistas run a community interest company, Sensory Solutions Herbal Evolution, that focusses on planting and supporting community herb gardens and creating empowered, resilient communities that care for their local green spaces.

"As we get more intimate with plants, we naturally want to protect them more ferociously. The time has come to wake up, reclaim our birthrights, and access more knowledge about the the foods and medicines in local plants, trees and fungi."

Tunes powered by Radio Buena Vida regulars Osh and Conna Haraway.
