We’ve been so busy planning ahead that we realised we still hadn’t shared some of the highlights of our wonderful November weekend with clarinettist/saxophonist Peter Nichols and pianist Margaret Roberts. On the Friday, Peter gave a delightful performance for guests of North Devon Hospice in their Café, then changed the mood entirely for the locals at The Poltimore Arms Brayford Yarde Down. Saturday was devoted to a Clarinet & Saxophone Workshop - these are proving so popular that the next one will be announced imminently - and on Sunday, Peter and Margaret were joined by Barkham Exmoor’s Leonie Anderson for a very well-received recital of trios by Schumann, Bruch and Mozart.

Many thanks to the Bridge Quartet www.bridgequartet.com for their wonderful Sunday afternoon performance at Barkham Exmoor following a very relaxed and enjoyable ‘side-by-side’ workshop with local musicians of all ages and stages of playing.

Feeling very humbled to see Barkham Exmoor featuring amongst such a worthy group. Thank you to all those who have shown so much support in what we’re trying to do here. Trying to save the arts from a remote corner of Exmoor can feel pretty lonely at times, but when the building is full of musicians, artists, writers, creatives and locals of all ages who never even knew this was something they would like, it can be unbelievably rewarding.

Many thanks again to for his generosity and for inviting players and Yuri to perform at The Poltimore Arms on Saturday evening, when they had an unanticipated gap in their schedule. The locals were as friendly and appreciative as ever, as well as being very generous with their donations. The performers had a wonderful evening and would love to return! They were just slightly disappointed to have missed the memo about the possibility of sampling ! At we reckon we should be collaborating to offer pizza-music-and drink evenings at our favourite local!
