Turkey Pie Night, a popular tradition in our house and another evening of feasting. Our Christmas is based on tiny rituals, the comfort of the familiar, nothing radical but perhaps a few additions. This year we made St John Chutney @fergushenderson which is awesome and I will definitely repeat. I do not bother with puddings on Christmas Day as there are mince pies and Christmas cake when something sweet is required, but a cheese board is an essential and thanks to my Mum and @southmoltonmarket we had a magnificent one this year including @cornish.yarg (my personal favourite). For our evening shared with friends I made Cranberry Cordial which I mixed with Brandy, Prosecco and special ice cubes (which I saw someone make recently) for festive cocktails. I love these details - so pretty and special and take no time at all to prepare. I served them with Sausage Rolls - I always make a double batch of Sausage Meat & Chestnut Stuffing and use the extra for either a plait or rolls. Next the Turkey Pie, I personally do not go in for full leftovers, just a base of shallots, celery and carrot for maximum flavour with the Turkey, the rich gravy, mushrooms and brandy. The appearance was very rustic this year but it tends to be a big hit. Puddings as requested by the family - trifle and profiteroles. I will definitely make the Cranberry Cordial again, perhaps add Vodka and put them in my hampers next year. Xx ๐ฏ๏ธ๐๐๏ธ
