As we return to events this week, just a reminder to our traders our rules on gazebo safety and weights.

We do not allow any trader at any event to trade with a garden gazebo. Not only do they not stay up in strong winds, but they also invalidate your PL insurance!

A minimum of 12kg weight is required on each leg, more if you can.

Water weights and sandbags on their own are not acceptable due to them not meeting the minimum weight requirements but also because they degrade over time. However its possible to add them on top of cast iron/cement weights for extra anchorage.

These rules are in place not only to protect the public and keep them safe but also to keep our traders from losing gazebos and stock.

We have seen far too many incidents from attending events as traders to even consider not taking H&S this seriously.

Our annual Summer Festival on the last weekend of the school holidays is back for the 3rd year!

This is one of our favourite reoccurring events and we strive to make it bigger and better each year.

Food pitches and larger pitches come as a premium but are available.

- ALL traders must have PL for £5m+ and RA.
- Food traders must be registered with their local authority and have a food hygiene rating of 4+ (or pending inspection)
-Commercial grade gazebos are essential, as is heavy duty anchorage. We do not allow garden Gazebos at any of our events

Phew, that's the van through its MOT, now just for a clean ready to head back to events on Thursday with Eastleigh Monthly Market and then Botley Second Sunday Market Launch next Sunday.

This week we also changed our van insurance. Massive thanks to Howden Insurance Eastleigh who not only managed to get us a cheaper quote than our renewal, but it also came with additional features.

If you are looking for any kind of insurance for your home, vehicle or business, definitely check them out as they've been brilliant. It's a rarety to have an insurance broker that answer in 3 rings and you get to speak to a proper person straight away and not an automated message so that another bonus. Also very handy that they are right on our doorstep too

Any categories not listed in the first picture are welcome to apply. (We do have resin, jesmonite, face painting and Utility Warehouse pending)

We have a big range of food & drink traders in attendance with more pending, plus a full entertainment schedule. We wanted to focus on food/drink ahead of anything else and are now ready to go all out with the stalls

Botley Revels On The Rec

This event in previous years has attracted upwards of 6k visitors and this year we have been brought on by Botley Parish Council to help supersize this popular community event with live music by proving the stalls. We are expecting around 7500 attendees but there may be even more!

Bars / inflatables / kids ride/ burger van not required.

Stalls will be allowed to leave from 5pm if they don't want to stay until 10pm but the pitch fee is the same regardless.

We have space for over 80 stalls & exhibits!

Food traders must have at least a 4 hygiene rating (or be pending inspection)

How epic is this unicorn hot chocolate art (most definitely worthy of an Instagram post)

We had a meeting today with the lovely Kat from Botley Parish Council to discuss details of Botley Revels On The Rec on 21st June at one of our favourite spots

If you haven't yet checked out the new "Gather Cafe" run by in coffee at Boorley Green Community Centre, you're missing out. As well as expertly crafted hot drinks, they also stock a wide range of baked goods, all made by local bakers and artisans. DELICIOUS!

Southampton City Farm Spring Open Day has trader pitches available.

We have made some changes to the venue to make it more easily accessible, and this now includes stalls set up in the car park, and on the grass as you come in the entrance rather than all being on the playground so it's much easier for traders.

3mx3m non food pitches are £35, but there is a discount of £15 if you pay for all 3 months in one go bringing it down to £30 peelr month

We will be looking for multiple types of food produce, artisan stalls, local traders, and anything else to make this a great market. We ideally would like fruit & Veg, Flowers, biltong and records. Stalls need to be of high quality but also affordable.

All traders MUST have PL insurance for a minimum of £5M, own commercial grade gazebo and sturdy weights.

As most of our events are dog friendly and we have a lot of dog owners who follow us, we wanted to share details of this scam shared by Second Chance Animal Rescue Southampton

MICROCHIP SCAM. We are posting this as a warning to pet owners, please. On 18th of February we heard from a supporter that they received an email notification from PETCHIP saying their dog's microchip had expired. The email had his correct name, breed and microchip number plus her own name and phone number so she had no reason to doubt it. Thank fully she didn't pay the £29, realising that she had never used PETCHIP! We checked with her legitimate Microchip provider who confirmed that PETCHIP is a scam and is not recognised by DEFRA. Her vet said they had had other queries about PETCHIP in the past. I hope this post serves as a reminder to other pet owners to check carefully any request to renew an expired microchip and save themselves from a similar hassle.
