(490)

There is always something new to see with baby animals and all our usual farmyard favourites. Explore the Victorian farmhouse & schoolroom, the wartime cottage and Anderson shelter. What will you discover about life in the past? During the school holidays there are themed events, trails and activities to take part in. We also have an amazing indoor play barn packed full of farm-themed equipment, w

ith different zones for toddlers to eight-year-olds. Outside is another play area with play tractors and a combine harvester. Grab hot drinks and snacks in the play barn, then relax and catch up with friends whilst the little ones let off steam — whatever the weather. The Café, just outside the entrance to the farm, offers a selection of food and drink from teas and ice creams to hot food.

This Sunday Manor Farm celebrates the first of it's Christmas traditions with Stir Up Sunday. Stir Up Sunday is an old tradition that dates from the Victorian era, when families would gather around and 'stir' their homemade Christmas pudding five weeks before Christmas, the last Sunday before advent begins.
So Aunty Bea will be in the farmhouse kitchen with the range lit, making Christmas Pudding & mince pies!
Drop in and say hello, then stir the pudding mix and make your Christmas wish!

Preparations for Christmas begin this weekend at the farm with Stir Up Sunday - a tradition dating back to Victorian times of making a wish as the Christmas pudding mix is stirred. So join Aunty Bea in the farmhouse kitchen & make your Christmas wish. Another Victorian tradition was adding coins (originally charms) to your Christmas pudding which was said to bring luck if you found them in your portion on Christmas Day. The traditional lucky charms were a silver coin for wealth, a wishbone for luck, a thimble for thrift, a ring for marriage, and an anchor for safe harbour.

🐴 Meet Hetty 🐴

We've been chomping at the bit to introduce you to our new Shire Horse Henrietta, or Hetty for short. This gorgeous lady joined the family 3 weeks ago and has already settled in so well at Manor Farm. Today, for the first time, she met our donkeys Imogen and David! There was a lot of excitement 😁 She's still got a while to go before she's spending the day in our Equine barn, but feel free to come and say hello whilst she's grazing out in the field 🌱

It's that time of year again, so dust off your broomsticks, and fly down to the farm!
