We took flowers to a special lady celebrating an incredible 54 years at the Beeb this week.

Had a lovely day at the Royal Windsor Flower Show yesterday. I even came away with a third place for my entry in “Garden Bounty” in the flower arranging

Classic green and white is just so timeless and hopefully uplifting too.
Our lesson making a Spring Arch recently. The room smelt amazing with all the fabulous scented flowers. This makes a lovely workshop and can be adapted for any time fo the year.
Have a look round our stall at St Thomas Church in Lymington
Pretty pink flowers today for a new arrival. Congratulations on such a special moment!
More autumnal tints today to brighten up a drab rainy morning
Pretty pink shades yesterday with a hint of dark red and soft lime to add vibrancy. Two different roses - Victorian Bride and the spray rose Bombastic pair with sweetly scented lilac stocks.
There is a new Interflora World Champion, Nickolaus Peters from Germany. Much as it pains me to admit it, he really deserved it, his work was exceptional! Congratulations Nickolaus!
Elisabeth Pålsson from Norway came second
Elizabeth Newcombe from the UK really did us proud, and came third (out of 37,000 florists worldwide!)
A seasonal bouquet winging its way out for anniversary celebration. It features roses and cosmos supported with locally grown, jewel like dahlias, starry astrantias, aromatic eucalyptus, sweetly scented phlox, mint flowers, fluffy grass heads and furry ballota leaves.
Rebecca Parker signing off in her last edition of The Kitchen Garden on BBC Radio Solent. She will be very much missed as will her excellent jokes, her impossible Pub Garden Quiz and all her empathetic help for gardeners all around the Solent area and beyond.
Birthday Bouquet
Classic white with a touch of soft lime and blue for a Birthday celebration.
This seasonal bouquet was our super big version in a huge ribbed glass vase and packed with gorgeously scented deep pink garden roses, pink and blue hydrangeas, pink foxgloves, nodding purple aquilegias, richly scented sweet williams, floating chasmanthium grass seed heads, aromatic eucalyptus, blue delphiniums and rich purple carnations, bright orange antirrhinums and deepest blue Larkspur. This one was sent to celebrate American Mothers Day
Really pleased with my design in Candles and Canticles at The National Show. It is completely foam free and almost all of the flowers were grown just a few miles from me.
Are you coming to see our Flower Arrangers Sale today. We are here at Colbury Memorial Hall Southampton from 11-1.30. My stuff is here and there is lots of it! You can still buy a ticket online at pipbensley.com for £3.50 or on the door for £5.
I often talk about the Constance Spry Method for folding chicken wire. Here is a video explaining the technique which was taught to me by the late Susie Edwards who worked for Constance Spry in her floristry team.
Please feel free to share the video to anyone who you think may want to be more successful with flowers in chicken wire.

A special challenge yesterday! One of my regular customers asked whether I could fill this mantle vase which had belonged to her mother's sister, and of which she was now custodian, with autumn flowers for her mother's special birthday party.
Even better, almost all the flowers came from my New Forest grower and no floral foam was involved so a really sustainable project all round.
There is definitely a feel of autumn in the air now! This Wedgwood Ravenstone mantle vase seems perfect for these rich shades.
