Aaaaand that’s a wrap for 2024 for our little family, and the amazing LP team!

When you’re open 7 days a week it can be tricky to stop, switch-off, and properly reflect on how things are going, so we have loved this Christmas break to hit reset, breathe a bit, and make plans for the year ahead!

2024 has been quite the rollercoaster. We’ve had a baby, seen our team grow (and said goodbye to some LP legends), had our worst ever month of trade, followed by our best ever month 😅, doubled our flower delivery orders, represented and at the , provided florals for some incredible events and weddings, had the busiest week of our career providing bouquets for the graduations, renovated our Southbourne store…..and so many other highs and lows!

Along the way we’ve done our best to make sure you always receive lovely service, consistently great coffee, and the best florals around!

At a time when there is more choice than ever for your morning brew or your Sunday brunch, we are beyond grateful for every time you’ve chosen to come through our doors, order a bouquet online, or just hit ❤️ on a story!

2025 is going to be our biggest yet, and we are so excited to tell you some of our plans for the coming months! Any guesses….?!

We’re back from 8.30am on January 2 in both Westbourne and Southbourne. We can’t wait to see you very soon!

Not long now til we take our Christmas break! At a time that’s usually wild for hospitality and retail workers, we prefer to hit pause and give our team the chance to enjoy Christmas, some proper rest, and some precious time with loved ones.

We’re here in both stores til 3pm on Christmas Eve so you’ve still got plenty of time to stock up on flowers, plants, coffee, cakes…or even squeeze in one last pre-Christmas Croffle!

We’ll then be back and raring to go on January 2, and we have some seriously exciting plans for 2025 that we can’t wait to share with you very soon!

If we don’t see you in the next few days, have the most wonderful Christmas ❤️

WINTER WARMERS

Of course we’ll be doing some of our famous little flower/coffee combos - it’s Christmas!

This weekend only (21st-22nd), both Southbourne & Westbourne, limited availability, no pre-orders.

They’re the absolute perfect gift if you’re visiting a relative, dropping in on a neighbour, or treating someone special to a day of festivities. Or just as a little Christmas treat from you to you!

Choose any hot drink you like (including our Winter Specials), or if you’d prefer you can upgrade to include some Raspberry Macarons instead for a few quid extra!

These always sell fast so get down sharpish on Saturday to secure the goods…

CHRISTMAS BOUQUETS!

With the wreath workshops behind us we are now full-steam-ahead with festive bouquets and centrepieces! We’ve had a LOT of fun designing these ones, and we love them so much we’re releasing them right away (rather than waiting til next week!), because why not?!

We’ve got 2 designs to choose from, with a Low Bowl option too, and it’s all about the bows this year along with all our favourite festive stems and foliages.

They’re available to grab in-store right away, or you can pre-order to collect right up until Christmas Eve, or for delivery til the 21st!

Our pre-orders generally sell out each year (especially for the weekend before Christmas) so we’d highly recommend ordering soon, don’t dilly dally. Link in bio!

Just 33 sleeps til Santa people. We’ll handle your decor for you in a few little clicks! A Wreath for your front door, and a Swag for your fireplace, bannister, table-centre (or just about anywhere)! This year it’s all about the bows and textures (why have 1 bow when you could have 3, ya know?). Let us know what you think!

As always, every item will be unique as our Floral team work their magic, but each will have that luxe LP feel and will absolutely be the envy of your neighbours! Both Wreaths and Swags will be available to collect on the first 2 weekends in December, and we’ve limited the numbers this year as things got a little wild last time! So book right away to make sure you don’t miss out.

Every month we rotate our guest coffees in each store, showcasing our favourite roasters from around the world. This month is a particularly special one for us…

From the very first day we got into the coffee industry, .ollie has been an incredible mentor and friend to us. Last year he set sail for Alicante to launch & and, as expected, has created something pretty special!

We’ve taken the El Salvador Natural (Nectarine) and the Rwanda Natural (Cherry) for the menu, along with a selection for our retail shelves and honestly we’ve been blown away! Our even went as far as saying the Nectarine has ruined coffee for her as nothing else will taste as good in comparison 🤣

One of Bakalar’s philosophies is that you don’t need to be a Q-Grader to identify tasting notes in their coffees, and we’ve been so impressed by the clarity in the cup. The boxes are already selling fast so come grab one before they’re gone!

We don’t often have roles come up, and this particular one hasn’t since we first opened back in 2021. We are on the hunt for a top-class hospo all-rounder to come and join our team as Hospitality Lead in our Southbourne store.

You’d be leading our team, shaping our food menu, taking our customer service to the next level, inputting at a management level, and helping drive our business forward in what is going to be a really exciting few years ahead!

It’s only 109 sleeps until Christmas and to be honest this weather’s got us right in the mood to crank up the heating, crack out the Bublé and fully embrace the chilly season. Anyone else?

This year we’ll have workshops in our Westbourne store as well as Southbourne, we’ll have mulled wine on the simmer, and we’ve got some fun new design ideas that you’re gonna love.

They always sell out fast, so grab a friend who loves Christmas as much as you and book your date in before they all go!

Well well well. Things usually go a little quiet in August. But not this year - it turned into our busiest ever month since launching LP! Big thanks from us if you popped down for flowers & coffee - we’ve had a blast throughout August & have LOVED serving you all and hopefully brightening up your day!

We were so busy we didn’t manage to get too many BTS snaps, but here’s some of our highlights…

1. Our favourite stems of the month? These stunning blue hydrangeas. These sold as quickly as we could buy them, and I hope they brought you as much joy as they brought us!
2. A close second: these dahlias. Do you ever look at some flowers and think, ‘how on earth is something so beautiful?!’ We get to do that every day - what a job!
3. We welcomed as our guest coffee, and wowza there’s some tasty coffees on our shelves right now. There’s more coming this week, and our hot rec is the Burundi.
4. Did you manage to get your hands on a Blueberry Matcha bundle?
5. We squeezed in a little family trip to Cornwall. If you find yourself in Fowey you must get to .fowey - fresh fish + frozen margs is arguable an even better combo than flowers + coffee 🤤
6. We ran a gorgeous hand-tied bouquet workshop with to celebrate the launch of Season 4. Who’s been watching?! Such a perfect evening.
7. A Liv Ball Low Bowl ™️ for ya. Did you know you can order these on our website & keep the bowls? We’ll even refill them for you if you bring them back!
8. We hosted another load of sold-out coffee workshops - from Home Barista workshops to training events for other stores. Check out our upcoming events on the website or drop us a message if we can help!
9. Last, and definitely most excitingly, I ended the month back home in Perth (it’s a looooong flight with a 6-month old!). As well as seeing family & recharging the batteries, I have absolutely made the most of the chance to do some “research” in WAs best coffee & flower spots!

So here’s to an even better month ahead. Can anyone else already smell the pumpkin spice? 🍂

💐 JULY was a lovely old month here at LP. Here’s a few snapshots of our favourite moments!

1. After many weeks taste-testing, our big chewy cookies from hit the cabinet and they are flying out. They’re all your cookie dreams come true.
2. Pie By The Slice hit Westbourne. Flowers & Coffee is already a wonderful combo but add Pie into the mix too and that’s suddenly a wonderland for the senses.
3. New menu for Southbourne. We’ve already been messing around with Croissants since 2021 and the Avocado Croast has hit new heights of delicious culinary interference. We’re pretty chuffed with this menu. Have you tried the Big Sandos yet?
4. We celebrated Ro’s birthday with a “research” trip to Kew Gardens (solid 8/10 but the coffee was a 2/10 fyi) and a feast at
5. took up residence as our latest guest and honestly blew us away. Last couple of days on the menu now til we say farewell 😭
6. The exotic summer bouquets brought a whole lot of colour and vibrancy to the stores (and hopefully to your homes and hearts). We just LOVE this floral season!
7. “The Lads” aka & Jude escaped for their annual Father/Son wild camping trip (definitely glamping). Culminated in seeing the world’s greatest band (Elbow) in Shropshire’s greatest castle (Ludlow).
8. It was a bit overdue, but we finally managed to give our Southbourne shop a makeover. It looks exactly like it did before but FRESH.
9. Dried Flower Week, woop woop! One of our favourite weeks in the calendar. If you haven’t bagged a bouq yet whatya waiting for?
10. Last but not least, we were delighted to unbox a big old palette of beautiful homeware bits from - please please come and buy them before we buy it all ourselves 🙏🏼

And that was July. Here’s to a HOT and sweaty August full of beautiful things 💐

DRIED FLOWER WEEK!

It’s here! It’s finally here! We adore dried flowers here at LP and one of our favourite weeks of the year is when we give the fresh flowers a little rest, and fill our shelves and vases with beautifully-arranged dried bouquets.

From tomorrow (Tuesday 30th) to the following Monday we’ll be showcasing the very best of dried, with many of the stems preserved in our drying room in Southbourne. We’ll have 5 different bouquet designs, and a whole load of mini bunches and single stem arrangements to grab.

These weeks are super popular so we’d recommend popping down soon to either Westbourne or Southbourne to avoid disappointment. Come grab a bouquet that will last you for years!

Just a little heads-up that our Southbourne store will be closed for one day only on Monday 29th July!

We’ll be re-decorating and giving the place a little TLC. The good news is the Westbourne store will be open as usual so you can head over there for your flowers & coffee fix!

☀️ SUMMER MENU ☀️

Our Southbourne menu has had a glow-up and we’re super excited for you to try it! If you’ve been in as we’ve soft-launched this week do let us know what you think…

We’ve doubled our Croffle offerings (or our crofflings?) because why not! The Summer Bruschetta is back, and from Friday-Sunday you can wrap your gnashers around one of our Big Sandos. The New Yorker is as close to sandwich perfection as it’s possible to get - thick cut brisket pastrami, proper pickles & plenty of mustard!

You’ll be able to find your usual favourites too like our granola bowls and Everything Toast, and the Brunch Flights have more options now too (including pastries from 🙌🏻)!

We’ve added another Home Barista Workshop on June 26 because it’s one week til Father’s Day and what the heck else does Dad want?!

We shall guarantee him…

- plenty of Dad jokes
- loads of new coffee knowledge to impress the guys at work
- a new obsession (mastering that silky latte art tulip pour)
- a free bag of very tasty coffee
- 2.5hrs of peace and quiet

Our other workshops are pretty close to sell-out throughout the Summer so book in soon (and feel free to come along if you’re not a Dad but want to learn to make great coffee, or you just like the idea of hanging out with a bunch of Dads for an evening…)

You loved them at Valentines & Mother’s Day. They went down a treat at London Coffee Festival. And we’re grateful for the 27,456 messages we’ve had showing us that place in London who have started doing them too 🤣

FLORAL WORKSHOPS ARE BACK!

We’ve taken a little break from our floral workshops but they’re back and better than ever with a super fun one on June 28!

We’ll be spending a gorgeous sunny Friday evening with a glass of fizz in hand, teaching you to arrange hand-tied bouquets the LP way. Whether you’re a home floral enthusiast, considering taking a step into floristry, or you just fancy a lovely night out with friends - come join us!

The workshop will run from 7pm at our Southbourne store, on June 28, with everything included.
