Venue Hire

Here at Southend Rugby Club, we offer the hire of our function room to provide parties, gatherings and events.

We provide the venue, with a very good size hall which is full of character, holding up to 250 people, opening onto an outdoor patio area. We have an additional room attached for your own catering, buffets, graze tables etc …and a fully-stocked bar, with a friendly, helpful bar team ready to make your occasion extra special.

Personalise your event with decorations, catering and entertainment, that way the occasion is always the individual, unique experience you want. You may decorate the hall in your colour theme, with tablecloths, balloons, banners, photo backdrops, light up numbers etc … we also welcome photo booths.

Choose a catering company to supply your food or bring your own. In the summer months you may hire food vans that can park up next to the patio, if you so wish. We also have an outdoor BBQ that can be hired with staff (subject to availability).

Hire your own DJ, band, entertainer or, alternatively, make a playlist to play through our sound system, via Bluetooth. We also have TVs around the room to display photos although this would need to requested at the time of the booking. We will need them sent to us via email in advance or, alternatively, bring along a memory stick.*

Functions

We can host birthday parties of all ages, wedding receptions, anniversaries, engagements, retirements, wakes, christenings, work parties, Christmas parties, presentations, quiz nights, charity events and fundraisers. We are happy to discuss and arrange any type of occasion not listed.

Wake Package

We offer a 3-hour wake package, which includes private hire of the hall and bar, unlimited self-service tea and coffee, tables set and dressed. Arrange for your own catering to be delivered and we will set up for your arrival.

We will have a table set out for your photos, flowers and remembrance book and are happy to play the music of your choice in the background. We can also display photos of your loved one on our TV screens, if you so wish (see * above).

Our aim is to make a celebration of life, personal to your family and friends. We are happy to assist with any other requirements.

Wake - £250

Party – 19.00 – Midnight - £300 (this includes opening at 17.30 for set up)

We are located at Warner’s Bridge Park, Sumpter’s Way, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 5RE and are in an ideal location for so many functions and activities- you need to see it to believe it! Combined with our private location, large outside space and ample free parking, we have a prime facility ready to be hired.

We are back open for party bookings with use of our hall and Bar which leads to our outdoor patio area with BBQ facilities, this enables us to accommodate social distancing, all risk assessments been made and safe. Gazebos can also be put up outside if you wish.

Remember guys and girls, on the 26th March (thursday) at 8pm can you all either stand on doorsteps or open a window and clap and cheer as loudly as you can for all the frontline workers - NHS staff, carers, food and medicine delivery drivers, shop workers and anyone else on the frontline, risking their own lives to makes yours better. Let's try and get this around the country.

NEWS| A message from our DoR....

It’s a crazy time for everyone, but it’s a time that demands buy in and unity and will hopefully bring the best out of people within our community.

In a time of uncertainty one thing that is a certainty is that we are full of incredible people at Southend Rugby Club. We have under Nathan Strange’s guidance begun to ring around and home visit some of our more senior members at the club which some of our senior players have kindly supported with making those calls. I’ve said it before we are more than just a rugby club.

It’s disappointing to finish the season early of course it is, but it’s absolutely the right decision by the RFU and one we support as a club. With no health there is no rugby, the health of our people is the most important thing right now and following senior government guidance is exactly what we all need to do.

The immediate impact is tough on the club of course, but when you have the amount of people that care about your club as we do I am confident we will return in a positive and stable manner.

Right now I wish all of our players, staff, supporters, sponsors, friends and families a safe and healthy few months ahead.
