Bradwell-on-sea Village Hall
Village Hall Week
The country is celebrating village hall week from 18th - 24th March this year. The Village Hall week is organised by ACRE. The annual campaign shines a spotlight on the contribution that England’s 10,000+ village halls make to rural communities. It will look at how buildings can be made more energy efficient, and how management committees can support sustainable and environmentally friendly behaviours in their community and to provide information to the residence of what happens in our halls and most importantly to get feedback of what the residents want from our hall.
During the week they will be encouraging as many halls as possible to hold their own events, share their stories and get inspiration from others.
The Bradwell Village Hall Trustees are opening the village to the public during this week for people to see the hall and to find out what goes on there and to feed back to us your suggestions on how we can help to provide the Village with a more activities and better facilities for hires. The village hall Trustees are looking at ways in which we can improve our Environmental Footprint to attempt to make the hire of the hall as cheap as possible. As trustees of the hall we want to know what our hires and the residents of the village and surrounding areas want, and that any changes we make cater for everyone.
We are holding an open day on Saturday 23rd March from 2.00pm - 4.00pm to let you look around the hall. It is hoped that as many organisations who currently use the hall will have a display and some do a demonstration of what goes on in the hall. There will also be a chance to talk to the representatives of the hall Trustees to get suggestions from you and to answer your questions.
On Tuesday 19th March at 7.30pm there will be a flower arranging demonstration in the hall by Barbara Roe.
On Friday 22nd March at 7.30pm - an Evening of the History of Bradwell-on-Sea. Kevin Bruce will give a talk on the History of Bradwell-on-Sea.
During these two evenings you will also have the chance to look at the displays, prepared from the various hall users.
More information on the Village Hall week will be given in the March Village View.
