I have always had a passion for flowers, but how did this all begin for me? I was looking for a new challenge, something I would enjoy and could fit around my family life. I had been asked many times to arrange flowers for friends and family, and I loved it when Christmas came as I would see this as an opportunity to go wild with flowers!!! "When someone loves their job it not only shows in their

work but to their attitude to their work." My dream started off after chatting to a friend over coffee, and sometimes the occasional cake!! We both had a strong sense of needing a new challenge in our lives, our children were growing up too fast. We wanted to have something we could get our teeth into, and after much discussion we both had our light bulb moments. At the start I did consider a shop , but after careful deliberation and much to my relief now opted to direct my business from a home studio. I built my workshop with the help of a clever carpenter, and now I have a place I'm happy to welcome clients into for Workshops and consultations. It works for me, and gives me somewhere to go when I have to immerse myself in flowers. This year (2017) I took the plunge to make my next big investment, a suitable vehicle for transporting my precious flowers. So when I deliver flowers for you or to your next big event, keep a look out for me, you won't miss me. 2017 has been a great year so far meeting lots of lovely new clients and I must say my family have been amazingly supportive of my new found love in floristry, my children have suddenly learnt to cook!!! Thank you to everyone who supports me and my business and helps me keep my passion alive, I look forward to offering my services to you all and many new clients for a many great years to come.

STAR 🌟 gives her approval to this Dried Wreath I made this morning.

Ideal for either inside or maybe a porch. I absolutely love the dark green velvet base with the deep purple ribbon in soft satin mixed with the dried materials.

Can I ask do you prefer fresh or dried flowers on your wreath?

Whilst it may be quite warm during the day, the Skys looking very much like summers over and Autumn 🍂 will soon be upon us.

The coffee shop menus are changing to the warmer recipes with that hint of Pumpkins 🎃 and winter warmer fruits. Not to mention the Hot Chocolates 🍫.

Cosy jumpers and warm socks, with the nights drawing in, what do you look forward to in Autumn?

My favourite activity is running my Pumpkins 🎃 and Posy Class, will you be joining me this year?

HEY IT’S ME I’M THE PROBLEM IT’S ME

How often do you wish for a perfect world 🌍 a perfect life? Let me tell you and maybe shatter your world but nothing is perfect, especially my social media grid if the experts are to be believed.

My life is not perfectly curated, and neither is my GRID. lol 😜

But what you get here is an Honest Caring and Compassionate Woman trying to live my best life in the most authentic way, with values I believe in.

If your new around here it would be great if you want to follow along for the ride, maybe a few motivational words, and a lot to floral inspired posts ( because I’m a huge flower lover) it helps to be especially if it’s my job lol 😂 .

More about me, (now is your chance to unfollow if I’m boring you) and I make no apologies for this part. My followers get an authentic me, sometimes a bare naked face, and sometimes with make up, because that’s me. No airs no graces just me, what you see is what you get.

If you are a flower lover who accepts people for who they are, true to themselves and not afraid to show it, then why not take a look through my shop window (social media pages) and if you like what you see come in and let’s chat.

POV

I love a gorgeous vase of luxury faux flowers but I have a very pet peeve that might offend some but there is no place for faux flowers at funerals!

Why would you hire arrangements or even have artificial flowers at a funeral, please tell me?

Good faux flowers are expensive so cheap ones won’t look great so it makes no sense to me to use cheap and nasty flowers for a sensitive occasion.

This is great advice for those waiting on their results.
I’m pleased I’m passed this stage, but some of my new followers may have kids in this position.
I hope it helps!!

With A-Level results day this week and GSCE results day next week, you or your loved one may be feeling anxious. If you are feeling these feelings, focus on happy memories, talk to others, listen to music, take a walk, connect with friends and family, cook or bake, do some exercise, start a new book.....do something for you to support yourself through this time, it will pass.

Day 6. Beautifying Your Space:One of the most tangible benefits of flower arranging is the ability to enhance your surroundings with natural beauty. Whether you're adorning your home, office, or event venue, a well-crafted floral arrangement can instantly elevate the ambiance and create a welcoming atmosphere. The versatility of flowers allows you to tailor your arrangements to suit any occasion or decor style.

I think this is my all time favourite Pumpkin arrangement I have ever created and I’ve made a few in my time. I can even remember who it was a gift for, she was blown away, and so was the sister who ordered it all the way from the USA. (They love their pumpkins but usually in a pie)

If you would like to create something like this for halloween then visit my website to book onto a great class being held at Hesketh Arms Churchtown

Day 5 of my 7 day post / blog today we talk about the benefits of flower arranging to create some Social Connection:Flower arranging isn't just a solitary pursuit—it's also a wonderful way to connect with others who share your passion. Joining a local floral design class or participating in online communities allows you to meet fellow enthusiasts, exchange tips and ideas, and forge meaningful friendships. The joy of learning and creating together enhances the overall experience of flower arranging.

Have you been to a class, if so give me a thumbs up? If not I hope to see you soon. Julie x

Day 3 of my 7 part series on why and how The Art of Flower Arranging can create and cultivate beauty and well-being.Connection with Nature:
In a world dominated by technology and urban landscapes, flower arranging offers a precious opportunity to reconnect with nature. Handling fresh flowers and foliage allows us to appreciate the beauty of the natural world up close. Moreover, studies have shown that being in proximity to plants can reduce stress levels and improve mood—a welcome benefit in any setting.

These photos were taken on a trip I took to Scotland, the textures of the moss and lichen really inspired me and this year I added some lichen covered twigs to my Christmas Wreaths, did you see them?

What inspires you?

Do you like to get the most from your flowers?

Yes hands up they are dead now, but they weren’t when I put the odd few stems in this little vase. Waste not want not was a saying in my house growing up, I think mum meant food, but here I am relating it to flowers.

If you need some hints and tips for getting the best from your flowers here is a link 🔗 to my free guide.

What is your favourite side.
Image one 1️⃣ or Image two 2️⃣

It’s important to make sure both sides are interesting when it’s for a dinning table. And remember to view it from a seated position as that’s how it will be seen.

I hope these tips help you, and if they have perhaps you might like to share the post with the other flower lovers in your life, or save it for when you need it.
Better still, why not come along and make your very own table scape for your dining table this festive period.
DM or leave a comment if you want to hear about the classes.

So I’ll remind you what’s your favourite side 1 or 2?

Wow reflection on yesterday…

Meeting lots of students in my garden room studio recently has been amazing. Yesterday I was delighted to hear that Joyce recently had been practicing what she learnt at the recent handtied bouquet workshop.

Not only has she created wonderful memories with her daughter in law, she was able to share her new found skill with her sister when she visited recently.

Joyce has also joined our ladies coffee and catch up group in Southport, so she has made lots of new friends / acquaintances in the process something we was nattering about during the evening. It’s amazing the different conversations we have. (Some are not to be shared here)

I love my job !!

Back in Nov 2023 I wrote a post about my classes, and what I envisioned for them. It seems now that this is coming into fruition.

A dream is just a dream until you write it down, you then take action to make it happen. Seems it’s right ❤️

What dreams do you have?
