Gosh I love this time of year! A whole year of gorgeous weddings about to begin, consultations for weddings both this year and next year and catching up with all my lovely booked in couples. It is always a buzz in March! As always, so very excited for all of you, it’s a joy and an honour to be a part of your days ✨

This first photo of the lovely Holly & Pete from last spring is just pure wedding day joy in one frame. I am so lucky to witness this love with the flowers there to frame each moment.

Working with exclusively British grown, seasonal stems means your flowers are naturally and authentically telling your story of time and place in the most sustainable way ✨

These lovely two had a beauty of a floral palette, gorgeous creamy yellow tones, soft lilac, coral pink through to orange and those beautiful pops of pale blue, the perfect accent colour for a soft contrast.

F E B R U A R Y M A G I C ✨

At the weekend I had just the right amount of spare stems in the studio to create a bridal bouquet. What better way to showcase those magic, first, early British-grown spring stems than in one of my favourite things to create. Comfortably held in one hand always, hand dyed silk to finish. My bouquets are considered, joyful and a celebration of the organic shapes provided by those magic seasonal stems.

This one had such a beautiful scent too! February magic ✨🌱 V x

The little details say A LOT about my work. I was just looking through some of my flowers from weddings last spring and realised it’s all right there in my buttonholes.

✨Joyful

Buttonholes are important little markers for your wedding party so they need to be made well. Technically considered so they last as long as possible, can handle a hug or two and in the summer…(hopefully) heat! There is so much room for variety of style in floristry…but I have no time for a badly made buttonhole 😆🫣

They are in every photo you are in until that jacket gets flung off for the dance floor! 🪩

S P R I N G U P D A T E S ✨🌱

I love it when clients choose to go for installations that can be updated with the seasons. This always means minimal waste, (never any single use plastics) and the only bin with anything in today was the compost one.

Always love being in with the team at we are aligned on so many things as businesses and they just such a bloody lovely bunch ✨

Lots of gorgeous bulbs in here for some Spring colour as they start to flower over the next few weeks! Their Wintery install handled the last 11 (!) weeks and all those storms perfectly with everything in tact, this update will bring the sunshine even if we’re not getting too much of it yet!

Spring, we’re all ready for it now right?! V x

So the weather hey!! 🫠 I hope everyone has dodged it somewhat today?! I’m not sure I’ve ever heard thunder like it!

I feel like those first signs of spring are bringing us all so much extra joy when the weather is like this 🌧️

Yesterday at the beautiful in Petersfield I created this little corner to do just that, softly colourful spring flowers with incredible scent 🥰 All stems were British grown…in Jan 🌷You really can have sustainable, seasonal British flowers at any point in the year.

I had such a lovely day chatting with new couples and those already booked in. I’ve always said this job is half a love of flowers and half a love of people! I’m so excited for all of your plans to come into fruition and be a part of your incredibly special days! It is always a joy and a pleasure ✨V x

When the best sustainable hair salon in town asks you to install a garland around their entrance, even when it’s in the midst of non stop wreath workshop week…you do it!!

really are the loveliest team. Ryan the owner is really passionate about running the business sustainably on all fronts and I am always super excited when working with businesses that have an aligned ethos!

We went for a really beautiful mix of British grown foliages, both naturally dried and fresh, a few copper elements and lots of gorgeous wintery texture ✨

As always all sustainable, reusable bespoke mechanics and no single use plastic.

Evening everyone! I hope you’re all really well?!

The Christmas prep is well underway here! Cue twigs in hair, questionable nails and everything covered in moss. I’ve seen many posts from other wedding suppliers saying are excited to slow down now…this is not the case for the florists!

We work realllly hard at this time of year, and the busyness can get a little crazy, but then the Christmas workshops come along and go and make up for all of it!!

They’re so much fun and actually relaxing for me, I think it’s seeing everyone else relax and make these incredible arrangements that when they walked in 2 hours before, they told me they weren’t creative, then they leave with this AMAZING thing! ✨

I teach in a way that is super thorough, you’ll learn about sustainability in floristry, how to create without single use plastics, how I work with the seasons and how to keep that arrangement of yours looking incredible! (Basically until you’re fed up with it because using British grown, fresh ingredients means it will lassssttt!!!)

As the wreath workshops are sold out, we’ve organised a table arrangement workshop at the wonderful for Sat 21st Dec 10am-12pm. I’ve not taught these as a class before but make them often in different seasons, they are SO relaxing to make and with totally different mechanics to a wreath some come and learn something new! Refreshments and festive nibbles are all included.

Join us, take a couple of hours out from the busyness and create something gorgeous that’s going to bring you joy every-time you see it 🥰🎄✨

I can’t wait to make my own arrangement for our table…sometimes the florist ends up being the only one without a wreath or a table centre 🫣😂…

Crab apple buttonholes 🍎✨

In my mind there are plenty of practical rules for what ingredients can and can’t go into buttonholes and corsages, (no squishy red berries, or flowers that won’t hold up) but not really any design rules!

So when I found out the groom had family greengrocer links I decided these mini crab apples were perfect and wired them in.

Buttonholes are a small thing with the power to not only look amazing on the wearer in all their photos but importantly they work hard to visually bring a wedding party together. Weaving your colour palette and style through in a subtle, cohesive way.

I LOVE making them and I love pinning them on. It is such a fun part of the day with so much excitement in the air about what comes next! V x

Endless Autumn tables ✨

For Alex & Mat .tower.oldportsmouth this past weekend. Clusters of bud vases filled with dahlias, dancing scabious and dried seed pods sat perfectly alongside pumpkins and candlelight.

Who married Mat today. What a corker this bridal bouquet was! Full of dahlias, zinnias, roses and Amaranthus, it was a total joy to bring the beauty of mid-October together.

All British grown, seasonal stems (as always here!) In a palette I’ve described to people this week as ‘romantic autumn’ Those gorgeous classic oranges and deep reds but with blush, coral and a little cream in the mix too✨

Autumn is such a gorgeous season for a wedding and the whole venue set up today was just so much fun!

There are a few new faces around here so I thought I’d re-introduce myself and post one of the photos I’ve received from the fab this past weekend ✨Thank you Katherine!

There are so many florists out there doing different and wonderful things, so why do my couples book in with me? (If I’ve flowered your wedding let me know your reasons too 😘)

✨My values are strong and my commitment to running my business sustainably is at the core of my decision making. I use exclusively British grown, seasonal stems, never any floral foam and never any bleached or dyed blooms or foliage in any of my work.

✨I am professionally trained and genuinely LOVE what I do and the couples I get to work with. You are all amazing and it is a complete joy to get to know you and be a witness to your love and adventures!

✨ I’m proud to be trusted by not only my incredible couples but venues, brands and other suppliers who recommend me to their clients regularly. This is an honour and has only been earnt by delivering work to the highest standards consistently and importantly being easy to work with, reliable and nice! (Being nice is so underrated!😆)

✨My floral style is joyful and wild but always considered. Designs organically evolve from the unique nature of the seasonal stems used. Inspired by the way things have naturally grown, I look to recreate this effortless feeling within my work. With a keen eye for colour and detail I bring together flowers that have a subtle and magical way of breathing joy and excitement into the spaces they inhabit and the people who experience them.

✨I love colour, tea, gardening and Italian food (every year for my birthday we have an Italian feast in the garden with family & friends) My spirit season is Spring. I flick between Radio X and Kisstory in the van and I did quite happily pay over the odds for an oasis ticket recently. I will talk to anyone about anything and my husband knows it 😆

After hours in the crypt 🪩💖✨

What a weekend! I have never taken part in such a joyous wedding fair as this one

I saw this weekend as a chance to play and create a bit of an immersive feeling with an installation in an otherwise completely empty space. I had ONE fixing point in there so had to think outside the box and genuinely loved every second creating it…and then seeing people’s reactions over the course of the weekend 🪩✨

That’s the thing about flowers, the way they make people feel is everything. It’s so often less about specific types of flower and more about getting the overall style and feel right.

Oh did we have fun in the crypt! Thank you to my amazing neighbours Harry .co.uk (thanks for the creepy whilstling!)Heidi -Such a calm and talented tattooist, we love you! And of course for bringing the music ✨

Catching up with emails, quotes and consultations around the flowers this week is a bit like plate spinning! So excited to have met so many lovely couples, everyone I spoke with will get an email this week, I’m getting there! 👊🏼V x

Evening!! ✨ What a whirlwind month Sept has been!

My next couple get married at the super lovely so I just had to share this beautiful image of the fabulous Katie & Ollie from earlier this year captured by the wonderful

Katie’s bouquet was a beauty and showed that outside of the main British growing season (April-Oct), seasonal flowers are still 100% the way to go! (Trust me it’s where the magic lies!) Especially important if you’re planning a wedding where you’d like the environmental impact to be minimal 💚

I’ve always chosen to use exclusively British grown flowers and foliages year around and never fly any stems in. It’s not easy (hello rain/wind/slugs/early frosts/caterpillars!) But I wouldn’t want to do my job any other way ✨

It is such a joy to provide flowers for your incredible days 🥰 K & O Can we do this again please guys?! ✨x

F L O W E R B O W L W O R K S H O P 🌿✨
Yep! So many of you asked for more seasonal workshops so here’s the first addition!

In collaboration with my seasonal pals we are offering this summer flower bowl workshop on Sat 31st August at 10.30am. (It’s soon!)

I’ll be personally guiding you through how to make these beauties (and then how to recreate designs again and again with flowers each season as you’ll get to keep all the reusable mechanics!)

All tools are provided and you’ll get a beautiful glass bowl to let your floral design flow from. The amazing team at Brasserie Blanc are including teas, coffees and some delicious freshly made pastries from their chefs ✨

‘Vanessa was our Florist for our wedding at Southend Barns in May, and I simply do not have enough words to say how incredible she is!

Vanessa is such a wonderful person and has such a passion for her flowers which is clear to see in her work. She was an absolute joy on the run up to and on the day of our wedding, and I felt like I had a real friend cheering us on!

The flowers were nothing short of exceptional, I had never seen flowers like that at a wedding before and they were absolutely perfect. Vanessa uses seasonal British flowers and we trusted her fully to decide on flowers/ colours and we were completely blown away.
