Happy Valentine's Day!

On a day when it's all about hearts, we had to share the love of our unique wedding venue here in the "heart" of St Andrews.

Lower and Upper College Halls provide the ideal setting for a special wedding day - but don't just take our word for it, if you are planning your big day, why not come for a visit.

With over 20 years of supporting and helping couples plan their special day, our Social Events Manager Amanda would be delighted to chat and meet with you. You can call her on 01334 462509 or email [email protected] for further information on the venue and packages, or to arrange a visit. You may just love it too! ๐Ÿ˜โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’Ÿ๐Ÿ’˜

Burns Night with Brian

We are delighted to announce that Brian Taylor will be joining our celebration of all things Burns on Saturday 25 January 2025.

As guest speaker for the evening Brian will deliver the โ€˜Immortal Memoryโ€™ which is guaranteed to be amusing as it is moving.

Brian a former BBC Political Editor for over 30 years is now a political commentator and columnist for The Herald. Both he and his wife Pam are graduates of the University of St Andrews.

For 50 years, Brian and his fellow St Andrews alumni have come together to honour Scotlandโ€™s Bard and look forward to continuing the tradition here in St Andrews.

Booking is now available for the dinner which is being held in Lower College Hall. The evening will begin with a welcome drink in the grand hall surroundings, where you will also enjoy a delicious four course Taste of Scotland themed dinner โ€“ including a haggis course (if we manage to catch one!).

Throughout the night there will be the opportunity to enjoy traditional Scottish entertainment, including an address to the haggis and reading of Burnsโ€™ poetry.

A winter night in Scotland can be cold, but weโ€™ve got you covered! Raise a dram of warming whisky, supplied by Luvians Bottle Shops, as we say slร inte. To round off the meal, indulge yourself with tasty Scottish tablet supplied by Fisher and Donaldson.

After dinner concludes, the celebrations continue until late at Younger Hall. Make sure to put on your dancing shoes for a lively evening of traditional ceilidh dancing, accompanied by the incredible Red Bothy Ceilidh Band.

Individual tickets can be purchased for the full dinner and ceilidh package experience. or why not gather family and friends by booking a table for 10. If you prefer, there is also the opportunity to purchase tickets for the ceilidh evening only.

It's November and they say that the use of a particular C word is now acceptable...and our new mate Chris the Haggis is getting really excited... but the C word he is looking forward to is ... the ceilidh taking place in Younger Hall on Saturday 25 January 2025.

He is looking forward to the other C word too, and has a suggestion for any of those lads oot there looking for a gift for their lasses..in the words of the Bard...why no "gie her a haggis" (or a ticket to our dinner in Lower College Hall which includes Scotland's favourite dish) and access to the ceilidh.

Book your tickets for our dinner and ceilidh package, or if haggis is not your thing, ceilidh only - further details available on our website - https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/accommodation-conferences-events/burns-night-2025/
