Update! We had an amazing evening with Charlie Perry conducting, Freya Parry singing and the British Sinfonietta Ensemble accompanying us with our very own Sam Hayes on piano for Will Todd's jazzy Mass in Blue and pieces by R Nathaniel Dett and Bob Chilcott's Singing by Numbers. It may have been the coldest night this winter but we had such a great time performing together - the very receptive audience seemed to enjoy it too!

A wonderful end to our 4 years with Ellie Slorach at Lichfield Cathedral singing Verdi's Requiem, joined by members of Chester Festival Chorus and the Brayside orchestra.

Chester Festival Singers joined us for a wonderful joint rehearsal at Goodwill Hall, Nantwich yesterday. Despite the heavy rain it was an uplifting afternoon - this is going to be a wonderful concert. 350 tickets sold to date - hurry and get yours before all the good seats are gone!

Tickets are selling fast for our anniversary concert at Lichfield Cathedral on 11th June - get yours now. See below for details. We have some amazing soloists: Meeta Raval, Molly Barker, Alexander James Edwards and John Savournin; a 58 piece orchestra; 140 singers and Ellie Slorach leading us all!

Sunday 5th June: joint rehearsal at Goodwill Hall, Faddiley, nr Nantwich CW5 8JF 2-5pm
Saturday 11th June: concert at Lichfield Cathedral. Rehearsal starts 1.45pm (choir to arrive from 1.15pm)
Sunday 12th June (afternoon): Garden Party
Monday 13th June: last rehearsal & farewell to Ellie
Start of 2022-23 season: Monday 12th September (to be confirmed)
Friday 11th November (evening): Annual Quiz Night
Saturday 19th November: Autumn concert (Rising Brook Baptist Church)

Less than six weeks to our performance of Verdi's amazing Requiem on 11th June at Lichfield Cathedral. We will be joined by the Brayside Orchestra, singers from Chester Festival Chorus, and wonderful soloists: Meeta Raval, Mollie Barker, Alexander James Edwards and John Savournin. All About SCS

We are a mixed choir from the county town of Stafford, singing for fun and the love of music. No audition is required to join us We are about 90 strong, performing three concerts per year, singing music from Bach to Britten, and in lighter vein, folk songs and songs from shows. Excitingly we often perform with a full orchestra and professional soloists. For special concerts in the past we have sung some of the great oratorios with an augmented choir in Lichfield Cathedral. So come and join in the fun! We have appointed a new Musical Director from September 2018: Ellie Slorach so we are all set for an exciting season.
