This is an exciting foliage Friday! A delivery of our evergreen and deciduous shrubs. Silvery leaves, various shades of green are all ready to plant and grow for our lovely customers.

We are delighted to become the 1000th member of Flowers From The Farm and it was amazing when this press release popped up on screen during the 10th anniversary conference this week! As a result we’re even more inspired and it’s great to now be part of this fabulous support network of fellow British growers.

Looking forward to getting lots more beautiful foliage planted very soon.

Happy Valentine’s Day! We wish everyone a day full of love whether in person or in thought. And when it comes to cooking your loved one’s meal bear in mind the history of these three beautiful green herbs.

Basil: in folklore of Moldavia a young man who accepts basil from a young woman is destined to fall in love with her.

Thyme: according to modern language, thyme brings with it the meaning of affection, perfect for young love. Why not include a sprig in a bouquet?

Oregano: the ancient Greeks believed this to be the herb of Aphrodite, goddess of love, who is said to have created it as the herb of joy for her garden.

Don’t forget herbs in your choice of foliage can bring messages of love, as well as adding flavour and of course delicious scent.

It’s foliage Friday! With very little foliage around for picking this month, we enhanced a bunch of Alstroemeria with p***y willow and blousey Fatsia japonica leaves to make a bouquet.

We hope you all managed to get some rest over the Christmas period. We at Wilson Young Foliage will be posting ....but in these nothing-is-normal strange times we’ve actually posted this on Saturday!

If you’re feeling the house is a little bare now the decs are down, don’t forget to get outside, look around your garden and walks, and cut a bit of foliage to give your home a lift. 🌱🌿☘️

Sold our last bunch of dried hydrangea heads today. We love these beauties and paired them here with a few dried Crocosmia. Can't wait to have fresh and dried hydrangeas available again next year!

Do you ever feel that you'd like a little bit of seasonal festive sparkle but aren't ready to commit to the full razzmatazz...? We are kind of feeling like that today, so we've dotted a few vases of gorgeous seasonal foliage around the house, giving a hint of what is to come when we go full on Christmas crazy! Here we've mixed some gorgeous holly, bay and a bit of ivy with some beautiful dried hydrangea heads and it's giving us just the right amount of Christmassy buzz.

Early next month we'll switch the hydrangeas for some rich, red amaryllis which will really dial up the Yuletide 'wow factor'!

It's a chilly one in the workshop this morning. Thank goodness for hot coffee and fingerless gloves! Thank you for all your orders of foliage and grasses - we are getting ready for deliveries later this week. Loving the smells of the fresh foliage (oooooh, that bay!) as we work.

Not only do we love foliage but we also have a rather large soft spot for grasses! These are two of our favourite which look just gorgeous together.

Latin name alert...Stipa gigantea, sometimes known as ‘Golden Oats’ is elegantly tall (these stems are approx 80cm-1m) and stately; while the beautiful Miscanthus is a softer, slightly daintier, partner.

Display them in a tall vase on their own for a striking display, or add to other flowers and foliage to add a little more ‘oomph’ to your arrangements!
