I've got to say this, if you are looking for a wedding florist, please ask questions about what training and experience your florist has. Do your homework, check out their social media pages, see if they are connected to local venues and other suppliers know them, and comment on their work.
In my book, your wedding day is way too important to risk using someone with little or no training. Your bouquet will feature in so many of your photos, and you need any installations to be safe and secure. Ask to see their public liability insurance so you know if anything untoward happens, you are covered. I am happy to help mentor new florists, but I will not allow the industry I am passionate about being devalued by those who don't believe that training is an integral part of their career.
Image, which is a doozy by the totally gorgeous

Not all bud vases are equal! These beauties adorned and what a beautiful location that is! Nestled in beautiful countryside surrounded by nature and wildlife.
Now back to the bud vases! These are a cost effective way to brighten your space but people often baulk at the price. You can indeed do them cheaper yourself but with respect they won't have the beautiful selection of flowers that Laura and Tom chose for their reception. As florists we have access to beautiful flowers some grown in my garden, some from local growers and some from further afield.

It's a busy wedding week, but yesterday saw a micro wedding for a local lad and his incredibly beautiful Canadian bride. I was recommended by the uber talented (thanks muchly) and delivered their flowers to the incredible Airbnb , what a great location for a family get together sleeps 17 in beautiful surroundings.
Back to the flowers a stunning mix of roses, astilbe, cornflowers, sanguisorba, eucalyptus, freesia and lisianthus

We are well into an incredibly busy wedding season, and that means our admin lead times have had to increase. If you are waiting for proposals and mood boards, I promise I am grabbing every spare minute I can but my focus is rightly on the weddings that are coming up. Have a little look at how beautiful Lisa looks from her wedding last week with her classic white rose bouquet

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It was respectfully requested by a town councillor that I remove the post about not working at the Town Hall anymore after my experience there on Saturday. After an investigation speaking to staff, reviewing their procedures and reviewing CCTV they have decided that I was completely mistaken with my version of events and that I should withdraw my allegations of unprofessionalism by their staff. I have complied with their request and wholeheartedly apologise for my complete confusion over the unfolding of events.
Obviously hardworking small businesses such as mine would choose not to work with any wedding venue without good reason.
Just so we are crystal clear I will not be taking weddings at Stamford Town Hall. Please do not comment on this post for fear of even more correspondence coming my way! They clearly have their version of events and I have mine and we will have to respectfully agree to disagree.

Why am I a florist? We'll thats down to two of the most amazing people My Dad and his younger sister Queenie (isn't it the best name?) So every weekend my Dad would take me out into the Countryside and teach me the names of the flowers and trees, we would watch the hares box, identify birdsong, fish for minnows and he left me with an abiding love of nature which still makes my soul sing.
Queenie loved flowers and taught me the name of garden flowers, she had pink nerines in her garden which I thought was terribly posh and exotic! She had a friend called Newton Flanders who owned a florist and he taught me to make carnation buttonholes with silver paper on a roll to wrap the stems and I was hooked! I was 6 or 7 at this point.
Lots of bench training and courses later and here we are, I have worked in some of Stamford premier florists, The Flower Gallery, Stamford Designer Florist, Pacey and Canham, Flower by Mandy all long since gone and now I work from my home studio. It still fills me with joy and excitement and thats why I'm a florist.

Very proud to say I have made it through to the final selection. Flowers are who I am, its what feeds my soul and fills up my happy meter.
I'm honoured that you choose me to make your wedding flowers, your birthday bouquets for your best friend, your farewell flowers to your loved ones, its always an honour.
What lots of you don't know is that I also beaver away in the background writing articles and resources for other florists, mentoring and training new florists and running Facebook groups for professional florists. To be recognised by my peers is huge for me and I'm very touched to be nominated. Competition is stiff so we will have to wait to see what happens. National Florists Day is 8th June so keep an eye out for something special to celebrate from Mrs Bee's

Are Imported Flowers so Bad?🤔

It’s a big question (huge even) and (unsurprisingly) it doesn’t have a simple answer. But Viv Bradford of Mrs Bee's Flower Company goes into a little detail on a few questions on the topic in this latest blog post over at The Club 🌸

To all the lucky ladies who received a bouquet of flowers from hard working florists, please look after your flowers. Remove them from the wrappings and place them in a clean vase of fresh water. Change the water regularly and your flowers will thank you for it. Enjoy I plan on a little bit of work and a lot of sleeping.

First wedding of 2024 was a peach at Burghley House. Hannah and Will were a joy to work with and chose beautiful shades of blush, rose and a little bit of masala to spice it up! Beautiful Spring flowers like hellebores, ranunculus, roses and some very sexy orchids.
These amazing images are courtesy of who is a master of his art (and a lovely chap to boot)

Can I just say if you have had an enquiry form from me and would like to chat about your wedding flowers, please, please get it back to me. I send enquiry forms and price lists out daily, and I'm not going to be everyone's flower fairy, but your date is only yours once you have paid the booking fee. All wedding suppliers are saying how busy this year is, and none of us can (or will) hold dates without a consultation and that booking fee. If you've had an enquiry form and I'm not the florist for you, that's absolutely fine too I hope you have an amazing wedding day.

Our Story

Mrs Bee's Flower Company offers a bespoke service for all your wedding and funeral flowers whether you have a small budget or a more lavish one. I have nearly 30 years experience in the floristry business both as a florist and also a floristry tutor. I am passionate about flowers( though I cant stand marigolds!) and would find it an honour and a privilege to help you choose the flowers for your special day. I like to use English flowers wherever possible, seasonal is always best but I have very good suppliers who can get most flowers. I try to reduce the amount of cellophane, oasis and plastics I use, preferring to use recyclable materials and natural containers such as jars and vases where possible. A chat costs nothing so if you think I maybe able to help then please feel free to contact me. I do book up quickly so sooner rather than later avoids disappointment.
