I had the pleasure of photographing a fabulous day with Lucy & Anthony last month! They contacted me a few years ago to capture their Wedding in a place that has a very special place in my heart, in Puerto Pollenca. A fun filled day with incredible singers and surprise performances!

🎤 I must have heard over 450 father of the bride speeches in my career as a wedding photographer.
It’s always part of the day where you get a whole mix of reactions and emotions to capture.

🎥 I’m not usually fully listening of course because I’m already looking for the next photo opportunity, predicting what’s coming next, looking for the best position and angle, checking the lighting, my camera settings, my batteries, being careful not to get in the videographers way….Yeah, It’s all going on in my head 🤣

👂But this speech made me listen. Kelly’s Dad made a really beautiful speech, it was about one thing….

❤️ KINDNESS.

🌎 How the world has got so used to the ‘what’s in it for me?’ type of attitude.

☺️How kindness seems to have been lost over the years. How it’s sometimes seen as a weakness, when it’s a huge strength to have kindness in your heart and to express kindness to others, without any need or want to receive it back in return.

💝 A beautifully refreshing speech I will never forget.

⏰ Your Wedding Day will go so fast! It’s important to take time out together as newly weds, even if it’s just for a five minute dreamy walk around the grounds! 💐

📸 Don’t worry, i’ll be hiding low in the bushes, maybe up a tree, I’ll be somewhere trying to be as discreet as possible. 😂

I think I’m a little obsessed with the ‘walk along photos’.
which I usually do in the couples photo session before being seated.

Whilst this happens I try my best to be a complete spider woman in the allocated time we have, taking pics from all angles, usually ending up with leaves in my hair and dirt on my knees. Anything to get the shot 😂

But in all seriousness I think it must be the symbolism behind the photo for me….
