There are some ceremonies that will stay in my mind for how chilled, FUN, and natural it felt! With some rowdy teachers, audible snorting from the teenage sons, and tears from others, these two had such a personal, touching and joyous start to their wedding 💙💖💙

When I arrived, Jo was chilling with some bubbles in her Bride PJs outside the yurt, wanting to feel part of the party, and Dave was having a drink, and living his best life🕺

🌳🌲🌳We then all gathered in the woodland ceremony area and listened to some beautiful sax playing from Isabella🎷 as Francesca walked her mum down the aisle 👰. It was a true celebration of two families coming together 💗

A wedding of two diamonds (one of them - Yusef- is missing from the photo! I'm not referring to myself as anything near gem-like, more a smooth pebble 🤣)

With their relationship formed with intense heat and under immense pressure, which then survived a continent relocation, this wedding was SUCH a celebration of true love!!

It was a perfectly stunning wedding, in the quintessential English garden of the bride's parents' home, with notes of Brazil, Morocco and Spain.

Well, WHAT A HAPPY DAY!!!

Congratulations Brett and Cait!!

Cait was, hands down, the most laugh-out-loud bride I have ever done a ceremony for! I don't think a minute of the ceremony went by without her laughing! And Brett was obviously as pleased as punch to be marrying her 💜

Cait did all the flower arranging herself, and it looked truly fabulous in the natural surrounds at

The wind rustled through the trees, the fish swam lazily around the pond, and their dog, Billy, well and truly entered the celebratory spirit with excited barking and a spontaneous victory roll at the end of the ceremony!

The photographer and videographer were 2 fabulous blokes, and I will tag them when I find their Insta handle!

Honestly, it was SUCH a pleasure to get to know these two! They have found joy, and I hope marriage brings so many more hilarious moments!

A touch of class!

🌦🌫☀️The weather was a bit touch and go, but these guys were going to have one hell of a celebration regardless!

🌳Such a personal wedding from start to finish in a woodland clearing near their home. They had a tree planting, an Estonian poem and their dog as the ring bearer. They worked hard to create their vision and the end result was simply beautiful, wellies and all!

I'm so excited to be here on Sunday!

You'll find me in some jazzy clothes, smiling, hair looking slightly wild if the wind picks up, handing out a wee drinkie-poo 🍹 to bribe people to come and talk to me about having an amazing Celebrant wedding!!

I know there'll be some super creative exhibitors and is a BEAUTIFUL venue for those who love the outdoor vibe so hopefully some of you there!

What a fabulous Spring day! With kilts and the gorgeous blooming flowers, it was such a colourful wedding!

Some cracking live music form Laura, followed by a Caelidh, all captured by the fabulous and chilled married duo (I quote a guest when I say 'I actually want him to be my life coach' 😂)

There were tears, laughter, stories, readings, a hand fasting, cat details - a beautiful and personal wedding!

Just a little pic from my holiday 🌍

You might not particularly care, and maybe think this post is a bit braggy 😆 ... but to all my couples from 2023, thank you for choosing me! It was partly down to you that we could afford to take our 2 daughters to Kenya to visit their Auntie Liz, Uncle Roo and two cousins 😍 I feel so unbelievably privileged that we have had the opportunity to travel, share the world with our daughters, and have family that have shared every moment of Christmas, New Year and their lives with us for the past 12 days.

I'm not quite back to reality yet, but my first call with a prospective 2024 couple is tonight, which is totally distracting me from the pre-work blues (my other job as a teacher creating the bluish tinge, not anything to do with Celebranting, which is simply and genuinely full of joy!)

As I look forward to 2024, I know there will be a lot of change. But really, for me, life is all about creating joy and revelling in it. So whatever lays ahead, I'm so excited for all the 2024 weddings and the moments of happiness I get to share with some delightful people.

2024, let's be having ya!!

How many ceremonies has your photographer watched?

A load. A s**t load.

So ask your photographer which type of ceremony is:

- more fun
- more personal
- funnier
- more chilled
- more touching
- more in line with the couple's vibe

And I bet you they'll tell you that if you're looking for all of the above, you want a Celebrant.

I have my photographer crushes, the guys and gals who just seem so totally chilled and up for a laugh. And I'm sure they too have their Celebrant crushes (it's all professional peeps, I'm not talking affairs!)

(Side note, is there a word for a professional crush? Nothing romantic, just like a 'I totally get what you're doing and admire you for it'? If so, let me know if the comments!!)

What. A. Wedding!!!!!!

Josh and Richelle, I wish you all the love and happiness for your married life together 💜🧡💙💚💛

There was so much colour in this transformed back garden in the heart of Epping!!

Ceremony highlights include a remembrance candle, which nearly had me in tears.

But sadness did not loom (it's a CELEBRATION, BABY!! 🎉🎉) and guests were cheering and whistling to show their love, support and excitement literally from the moment the bride arrived.

There was no ring exchange, but a Wicken-inspired reading to accompany a hand fasting instead.

With the information I gathered from Josh and Richelle and our meet ups, I was able to create a really unique ceremony that was just full of life, just like they are.

What an absolute honour to be chosen to do their ceremony 💜🧡💚💙💛

COCKTAIL MIXING... IN YOUR CEREMONY!!!

🍸 This little poem I wrote especially for Ben and Christina. According to them, there is not a margarita on this planet that beats one Ben makes, so how else could they truly get the party started?!💃🕺

🎉 They wanted their ceremony to ADD to the party feel, not be the pre-cursor, so mixing a cocktail was a perfect addition!

A-WOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!!!!! 🎉

This 2 dreamed of a super relaxed wedding and this is exactly what they created!!!

Their ceremony was FULL of personal details from a ring warming (their rings being made from the precious gold of dear family members), to a hand fasting, from rowdy group vows to mixing a margarita at the end of the ceremony! 🍸🍸

They wanted something different and chilled, and this is totally what they got!! 😎

Their guests embraced their dress code and donned pre-loved items to keep their impact on the planet low, and they looked FABULOUS! 🌍

Everyone LOVED the glamping option and were relieved with the bathroom situation 😅 and this meant they really had a whole weekend to bring their nearest and dearest together for the party of all parties!!!

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE TWO, HILARIOUS HUMANS!!!

It was my kinda ceremony from start to finish and I'm so honoured they chose me to make it become a reality for them!

Here are a few reasons I personally thought it was so lovely!

✅ Stunning lakeside setting , excellently organised by the wonderful Hannah
✅ They'd written their own vows (there wasn't a dry eye in the house... apart from maybe the bride, !)
✅ Awesome reading by Taylor Mali, Falling in love is like owning a dog - touching and humorous all at once)
✅ Had a toast at the end and all guests were sipping their drinks throughout
✅ Both Kat and Alex were all about having a good time, super relaxed and laughing all the way through
✅ They boogied out to Soul Limbo (what a way to start the party!!)
✅ They had SPACE HOPPERS!!!! (Not in the ceremony!)

Having started in one of the classier establishments in Peterborough, this romance developed in the two iconic cities Paris and Tokyo. They FINALLY got to tie the knot in the stunning

When I first spoke with these 2 I KNEW I wanted to do their wedding (they're having a garden wedding and this is TOTALLY up my street!), the question is, did they want me?!

You see, the great thing about Celebrant weddings is you get to choose who writes your wedding ceremony and who marries you. It's worth having a look around to find someone you like, trust, and think will start your wedding with the vibe you want.

I was SO happy when these 2 said they wanted me to be their Celebrant. I wanted it from the start, but our zoom call was full of laughing and joking, and then I found out the groom's granny was called Sheila!

Roll on September for the best Epping garden wedding EVER!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FABULOUS G & D!!! 🥂

These guys wanted a special day, but are also not the type of people to have a big fuss and be in the centre of attention. And so they did things their way! 💖

They found this STUNNING walled garden in Suffolk with accommodation attached and organised a super intimate ceremony, followed by canapés and champagne, followed by a meal cooked for all their guests by caterers they'd invited in. I was so honoured so be chosen to be part of their day 😍

Having watched the weather all week, everyone was DELIGHTED that the sun shone and we were able to enjoy this beautiful to the max ☀️

At the end of the ceremony, the groom's dad warmly shook my hand and thanked me for making a special occasion even more special. 🧡

And so if you're wondering:
A) yes, you can get married outdoors in April (although it's good to have a wet weather plan!)
B) no, you don't have to have your wedding at an official wedding venue
C) yes, small weddings are still an amazing way to celebrate your love, commit yourselves to each other, and have an AWESOME party with the people you love the most!

It seems to me that most couples I work with have a pet, if not a dog (We are a nation of animal lovers!). So for those who are interested in seeing anl recent photo of my dim-witted Australian labradoodle (an expensive mongrel if you're wondering 🤣), Chuckles - voila!

Every year I love the appearance of the bold daffodils and always get some for the beginning of February. Yes, there may be snow in the forecast, but these flowers bloom year after year, bringing memories and heralding the beginning of spring.

My Celebrant journey:

2017:
Fiancé: Maybe we should get a Celebrant for our wedding?
Me: A what?

2018:
All our guests at our wedding: Wow! That ceremony was amazing! So YOU!

2020:
Pandemic and mat leave hit. Something no one tells you is that babies are super boring, especially when baby classes, cafes and socialising are all cancelled!
Me: How can I bring joy into my life? I know! I'll train to be a Celebrant! Thank you for quality training which is accessible for the modern mum!

2021:
4 weddings (but no funeral!), including a television appearance!

2022:
Full summer, one nomination for a TWIA award, invited back by TV, recommended by a venue, became a preferred supplier by one of my favourite venues (another in the pipeline 🤞), all whilst on mat leave with baby no.2.

So I didn't win last week, but I genuinely feel like a winner anyway! There are days that I doubt myself, but that just causes us to reflect, be grateful, and if I can, improve.

As a girl, I used to walk past Alswick estate frequently. It's set in peaceful countryside and I used to love walking the dog round there. Recently, I discovered there's a wedding venue nestled in there! And so I contacted the lovely Lucy and organised a visit.

On a foggy day, gives the warmest welcome! It's a beautifully bright yet cosy barn, modern yet stunningly restored 16th century barn, and space for your ceremony and reception with glamping facilities (included in the price!). I met Lucy and Ellie, chatted over a cup of tea and I'm DELIGHTED that I will soon be added to their preferred suppliers list!

There's an open day on Saturday 10th December, so get your butts down there to see if it's your dream venue!

Running update... PBs all round!

First race ever for me, running with my Pops (who is 70 - what an inspiration!).

My husband raced the 5k in an impressive 22mins 55secs and then jogged a third lap to be our pace maker 💛💚💙

At 8k, with a bounce in his step, he said 'come on, Flops, let's pick up the pace!'

'Absolutely not' I managed to puff.

But I've done it, and I feel proud!
