I was talking to a teacher a few days ago and we were discussing tips that you could give to other supply teachers to help make the job easier and more rewarding. I thought that it would be a nice idea to collect as many tips as I could and put them all in one place!
Be On Time
Be nice to the office staff, it is usually them who phone to make the bookings.
Treat you TA's and LSA's well, they will tell others in the school how good you were.
Have a Trick up your sleeve - I make a balloon figure at the start of the day and say that if the class work hard for me and we have a good day, we will make time at the end of the day for a few more. (I'm sure you can think of lots more)
Have a Teaching Toolbox! - A box or a bag filled with pencils, rulers rubbers and all of the other things that any good teacher should be able to lay their hands on at any point.
Please tell me your comments and give me ideas to add to the list. I can't wait to hear what you all do...

I was contacted by a brand new client today who has asked to find them a KS1 Teacher for the Summer Term. They are looking to recruit for this post on a permanent basis from September 2024 so the candidate who is successful for the summer term will be in a great position for this.
