So i close my eyes to old ends and open my heart to new beginnings and after nearly a decade working in the wedding industry the Bespoke journey comes to an end.

Having looked after 897 couples since our doors opened in 2014 it has been an honour to be part of so many wondrful, inspiring and genuinly amazing couples and their family and friends over the years. We didnt always get every wedding right but i can promise we did pour our heart, soul and occasioanlly a limb or two into trying.

To our industry friends from photographers, to venues, to florists and everyone else in between. WOW you continue to inspire and amaze everytime i see a new post pop up. The last three years have had our industry on its knees and in the process we have lost, sacrificed and seen our selfs at breaking point both phsically and mentally and yet each and everyone of you continued to get up, fight and deliver your magic even when behind the scenes tears, worry and exhaustion consumed us all.

To my team, both old, current & extended (Daisy Fays / Elephant Events) Thank you. You all played an incredible part in the Bespoke journey truly helping to make it as special as it was. There were tears, tantrums (mostly mine) and so much laughter and stories to last a life time. To Danni and Grant thank you, this past year you have both been nothing but inspirational to work alongside. You put so much joy into that kitchen and i will alway be indebted to you both for getting me through this last year.

Its been one hell of a ride and despite the rollercoaster of the last three years i am so increibly proud of what we have achived over the last 9 years. The memories, the laughter, the tears, the friendships, the celebrations, the breakdowns, they will all hold a special place in my heart as we close this chapter of our lives and move on to writting a new story and i can only trust this next chapter because i know the author.

Ahhhh what a belter of a wedding this was. Rachael had an incredible vision for her wedding and when it came to food this pair knew exactly what they wanted using their menu to relive memories such as lobster tacos in Iceland. Bringing together an absolute dream team of suppliers and it’s safe to say this was one very special wedding!

Happy Happy New Year! 🥂

2021 what can I say, other than leaving us looking and feeling like an extra from the walking dead you showed us that with the right people around you the impossible can in fact become possible.

To our incredible team old and new, to our extended Bespoke family and in particular , to our suppliers with a special shout out to who were absolutely faultless and beyond helpful last year. To our venues again old and new who allow us to be part of their extended ‘work’ families. To our couples and clients who trusted us with their big day, event or production we hope we managed in a small way make your day as special as it was and for the ones we didn’t get 100% right, we apologise, we learn and we grow. To our friends and family who kept us going and provided us with unconditional support when at times we were unable to show up for them when we should have and to our kids who sacrificed so much but we’re still our biggest cheerleaders.

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

2022 we are ready for the delightfully chaotic year you have in store for us and another new first for us as the team head overseas for an exciting new project.

Brownies incoming..........

Brownie orders will be starting to hit doorsteps from today and will be with you all by Saturday so you can all start Easter Sunday on a sugar high ;-)

This will be our very last chapter of our brownie journey and i want to thank you all so so much from the bottom of my heart for your continued support. We have now raised enough money from our Christmas & Easter brownie drive that no matter what happens for the remainder of 2021 our entire team will have job security for as long as they want it. None of which would have been possible without you.

It's our last day of selling our Easter Brownie Slab's and the brownie shop will close at 9.30pm this evening. We have given ourselves one last target for today and that is to sell 132 boxes which would cover a months salary for one of our team.

So for one final time, one final push and one final ask of help.................. and i will now stop cluttering up your news feeds with brownie posts i promise and hopefully it will soon be filled with delightful weddings and events when we are all back doing what we love!

So here we are the last day of January 2021, another year and it looks like we have another long fight ahead of us, while the world returns to some sort of normal. Since my original post last September we have not received any more government support and as outside caterers we are not classed as hospitality and as such cannot access any of the support on offer for that sector, we are still not included in the reduced VAT rate either and since going into another national lock down on the 26th of December 2020 no more additional support has been provided. We are however super hopeful that an industry specific grant which we applied for on Thursday will be successful and we will receive some sort of support although we need to wait and survive until March to find out how we got on.

11 months, 11 months we have been fighting for our survival and it’s been tough, we lost 1.6 million pounds worth of revenue last year and I’ve watched amazingly established business’s in our sector lose their fight for survival through no fault of their own and it honestly breaks my heart, as an industry we cry and as individuals we are trying to find the continued strength to take on each day, in the hope that if we dig our heels in hard enough we will make it.

Like so many, mentally I have struggled and there are days where I do just feel like what’s the point but I’m lucky I have three beautiful kids, a roof over my head and I’ve managed to get my business through 10 months of a global pandemic, it’s certainly not been easy and I’ve cried more this last year than I have in the other 38 years of my life, but I’m still here. I still have a promise to keep, a promise that my team will continue to have job security for as long as they want it, a promise that my couples will have my support for their wedding regardless of what shape or form it takes and a promise that I will hopefully one day make my kids proud that when we look back on all of this, they know that mummy never gave up.

Our last brownie journey was rather the adventure we had some amazing highs, honestly the support, the messages, the kind words (someone even brought me flowers) will never be forgotten! Words are so so powerful, and they have the ability to build someone up and also the ability to tear someone down so please be that person that uses their words in a positive way, be the person that gives someone the continued strength to keep going because we are all fighting our own battles and most of the time we have no idea what people are going through.

We took on a mammoth challenge at Christmas having never done anything like this before and we have learnt so much, what does work and what doesn’t work, how we can make things better and how we can try and reduce things going wrong and have decided (call me crazy) to launch an Easter Brownie to help with the continued fight of survival of our business.

We have invested in better packaging, we will be using a dedicated courier service rather than via the post, we will be including an after-care card in each box on how to store and keep your brownies at their best and I have spent some time getting a better handle of the world of e-commerce and how to operate our online shop. Will it be flawless, absolutely not we are human, and things will go wrong, but I will continue to try to fix them if that happens and learn from past mistakes made.

So to continue to support us and our journey to sell 2000 Easter Brownie Slabs to help us take on and survive this next chapter of the year and whatever it wants to throw at us head over to the shop.
