So blown away by these captures by the talented Ricky Baillie from last weekend’s wedding for the gorgeous Sami and David.

They were just the most full of life family and so much love was I the air. A total joy to work with from start to finish. I was so happy to see the sun splitting the sky for their outdoor ceremony i the walled garden.

Just came across this photo of a bouquet I did in February 2020 for the most lovely bride. Strange to think that we were so blissfully unaware of what was around the corner pre-Covid. But I’m feeling quietly hopeful that 2022 is going to be a better year. I hope you are too.

Happy 2nd Anniversary to the gorgeous Mr & Mrs Weir. It was such a pleasure to create the flowers for and Fraser for their .

Your day is special to me for many reasons. It was one of the first weddings I did after setting up the business. I was full anticipation and nerves of how things would go in 2020. Then Covid hit, the wedding industry ground to a hault and life got pretty hard as my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer the week before we went into lockdown.

To be honest I didn’t know if I was coming for going a long time after that and wasn’t sure what to do work wise as things were in such turmoil.

I’m not a hugely spiritual person but when these gorgeous images were featured in the same day as my dad lost his battle with cancer I decided to take it as him giving me a sign. Keep going. You’ve got this.

He was always hugely supportive of my change in career. I got my creativity from him. He could make or fix anything. And often would pick and arrange flowers from his garden. The place where he was happiest.

So as things are starting to take shape for a busy wedding season in 2022 it’s feels good to reflect and remember him.

🚨SMUG ALERT🚨 Just back from the best weekend ever at the glorious playground that is .

We were booked almost two years ago but our plans were scuppered by the ‘rona so it made it even more special to get away kiddie free for a couple of nights of pure luxury, indulgence and relaxation.

But when you run a small business you’re never fully off and I couldn’t help admiring the gorgeous floral arrangements throughout the hotel, including these winter beauts in the super grand Strathearn dining room.🤓

After a busy December I’ve eased into 2022 but after taking the decorations down yesterday it’s time to get back to work and very excited to make plans for the year ahead.

Day 17 - meet the pets

This is Rosa Barks 🐕🥰. She’s only been with us for a couple of months but I can’t imagine life without her.

She’s a Rhodesian Ridgeback and is only 6 months but is freaking massive already 😅 and is the reason that our Christmas tree 🎄 only has decorations on the top half 😆. Isn’t she a cracker?! ♥️♥️♥️

Day 15 - what’s the inspiration for your business

It’s a bit of a cliche but it has to be my kids. Covid and lockdown cemented an idea. No, a need, for me to be around for them. Drop offs, pick ups, swimming lessons, gymnastics, homework, dinner time. The day to day stuff. The mundane. But hopefully the important stuff to help them feel grounded and safe and cared for in this crazy world.

So yes there are long days and lots of late nights but it means I’ve been able to break away from the traditional 9-5 to allow me to do that. And all at the same time as doing what I love. It’s early days in my fledgling wee venture but despite all the turmoil in the world I feel hopeful that I can enjoy my time with them whilst they’re wee and build something for our future.

We haven’t actually shared it yet as have some big plans for the new year but it’s a cracker! Such great chemistry with our real couple and her partner Craig. So much fun.

and I met at the school gate as our kids are in the same class but could tell right away that we’d work well together. And looking forward to working together on weddings and collabs in Bridge of Allan and across Central Scotland in 2022 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 there are still dates available for next year and 2023.

Day 13 - three top tips when selecting your wedding florist

1. Define your style
Put together some examples of what you would like for your day, be it rustic, colourful, romantic or elegant. Pinterest is great for collecting photos of what your dream wedding would look like, including the styling, flowers and your dress. All these details will help your florist get an understanding of what you are looking for, and how your wedding day is currently looking.

2. Be realistic
Collect images of any flower designs you love, but be realistic when presenting them to your florist. Use them as inspiration - your florist will have their own style rather than copying your image exactly.
Another thing to consider is the scale of your dream flowers, if you are collating a beautiful Pinterest board of large centrepieces but want small ones in reality, your florist will struggle to provide what you are imagining.

3. Have an idea of your budget
It can be easy to underestimate the amount of work that goes into your flowers. The florist will spend hours preparing flowers, from buying to hydrating them. Leading up to your day florists will put in long hours in getting your flowers set up and looking perfect. These man hours and quality of the flowers will reflect in your quote, any extremely low quote should certainly raise red flags when collecting estimates. The most important thing to do is to set yourself a realistic budget for your flowers, then refine this whilst discussing your requirements with potential florists. Many aspects will affect the cost for your flowers, such as the size of the arrangements, the style, and whether your dream flowers will be in season on your wedding day.

Day 12 - summer wedding of 2021

God I’ve missed so many days of this 🤦🏼‍♀️ but here’s my favourite wedding of the summer if not the year. Have been waiting to share the professional shots of this one as it was such a beaut but what the heck here’s a few from the phone.

My first bright and colourful brief which was definitely a step outside my comfort zone but so chuffed with how they turned out for the lovely Madeleine and Dan at the stunning
That fireplace is over 2m wide!!! The combo of Dutch flowers with Scottish grown blooms from really worked well with the bright artwork.
