Don’t put the hook on your wrist … it can be painful and the dress will get in your way. Instead get your seamstress to put a bustle on the dress. That way when you’ve had enough of the train simply clip it up out of the way and your dress will still look amazing x

Brides often say they want a timeless dress so that their photos don’t date. But what is timeless?
The fashion industry is a moving beast and fashions, including bridal, change all the time. This can’t be helped and dresses will always be identifiable as being from a certain era.
However some dresses are more classic than others for example a strapless, sweetheart neckline, satin ball gown but even these classics get updated with modern twists.
Take Primrose pictured here. She’s a traditional ball gown but she’s been updated with a more modern sweetheart neckline, a brocade fabric and a cheeky side slit. The overall effect is a classic ball gown but she’s been updated for today’s modern bride.
To be truthful they’ll be other things in your wedding photos which will date more obviously than your wedding dress. Can you name any?

3 changes you need to know…
1. Order times on dresses have reduced. Dresses usually take between 4-6 months to arrive NOT 12 months. However don’t forget you will also have to factor in approximately 2 months for alterations
2. Although I’d recommend starting looking for your wedding dress 12 to 8 months before your wedding to ensure you have the most choice if you do have a short time frame DON’T PANIC. Some designers now hold small amounts of stock that can be delivered straight away but also most wedding boutiques have off the peg dresses and sample dresses that can be purchased and taken away immediately as well as dresses to order. You will always be able to get a dress so don’t worry.
3. Sample dresses are not used dresses. They have been tried on in the boutique by brides, some more than others. Buying a sample dress is a brilliant way of getting a designer dress at a very discounted price, a real bargain!
