Community = EVERYTHING 🤝

Community became the heart of impactful branded events in 2024, and it was front and center at the Community Day we produced in Manchester. Here’s how we made it happen:

✨ The purpose: Together with Represent’s Head of Community, , we curated an intimate event to bring 50 of their most engaged customers face-to-face with founders George and Michael and their leadership team. The goal? To celebrate the brand’s story, share its journey, and strengthen connections with its loyal community.

✨ The experience:
🎤 We crafted an agenda that included talks from Represent’s founders and team, highlighting the brand’s timeline since 2012, and weaving their mission statement into every element of the event.
🎮 Branded fun and games kept the vibe interactive and engaging.
🎁 Goodie bags, filled with exclusive merch and thoughtful surprises, added that extra special touch!
🎧 Thanks to expert tech checks from our event producer, Talia, every moment went off without a hitch.

✨ Why it matters: Events like these showcase the importance of building a real connection with your audience—beyond products or services. By focusing on storytelling, shared values, and a sense of belonging, Represent is creating a lasting community that grows far beyond the event itself.

Transforming a vision into a stellar experience! 🌌✨

We had the privilege of producing a space-themed awards night for one of our incredible clients at the iconic in Liverpool. From the ‘Mars Bar’ to floating planets, every element was designed to immerse guests in an otherworldly celebration of achievement.

Here’s how we brought the theme to life:
🪐 Curated space-themed goodie bags for room drops
🪐 Suspended planets creating a cosmic atmosphere
🪐 A recognition photoboard spotlighting the award winners
🪐 Desserts inspired by the stars

Our goal? To craft not just an event but an unforgettable experience that aligned with the client’s vision and honored their awardees.

Now not every client keeps to a traditional Christmas theme, which is one of the best parts of the creative process!

We produced a unique ‘Heaven and Hell’ themed party for our client, Puma, at Manchester’s Albert Hall for 200 guests.. and what. a. night! They wanted a Christmas Party with a twist. No boring corporate themes here… but with such an iconic brand, the challenge was to develop the creative theme and identity, but ‘Make it PUMA,’ ensuring guests are entertained throughout, with the brand front and centre.

We’ve had an absolute blast bringing the Squashies experience zone to life at the iconic ! 🎉🍬

From November 15th-30th, visitors are stepping into a vibrant, one-of-a-kind activation that celebrates all things Squashies. Working closely with Swizzels, our Make Events team delivered:

🎨 Stunning design and 3D renderings of the space
✍️ Bespoke custom artwork
🔧 Full build and setup of the stand

The highlight? The first-ever Squashies sofa, a playful pink-and-white centerpiece perfect for those selfie moments! 📸✨

Visitors can also enjoy free Squashies, spin-the-wheel games with exciting prizes, and even the chance to win tickets to future Co-op Live shows. 🎶🎭

It’s been a joy helping Swizzels bring their sweet vision to life at the UK’s largest entertainment venue, creating a fun-filled space for music and comedy fans alike. Huge thanks to Swizzels for trusting us to make it happen and to Co-op Live for hosting this incredible experience.

50 event industry founders in one room – here’s what we learnt!⬇️

An incredible afternoon at the Leader Lunch for Founders in the Events Industry, hosted by at the stunning 🏙️

The event gave us valuable industry insights, including:

🔄 Agencies are evolving, diversifying their offerings beyond live events to include services like content production, venue sourcing, and hospitality—an approach we’ve already adopted.

📱 Gen Z is reshaping how we communicate—they prefer receiving information in innovative ways. As a result, sales roles are transitioning into client services, where clients expect to experience our capabilities rather than simply be told about them. The key is to engage clients on their terms and communicate in the way they prefer.

🚨 The events industry is currently facing significant financial pressures, with long working hours and increasing demands not being reflected in overall profits.

✨ The focus is shifting toward creating lasting experiences, with clients moving away from traditional one-night events centered around alcohol. More are now open to extending events into weekends, including Saturdays, for a more meaningful engagement.

✨Reflecting on the magic of award nights!🏆

Last night’s EMA’s left us INSPIRED! Here’s our key takeaway’s⬇️

🔊 Audio is just as important as the visuals
In the past, we’ve thought of audio as secondary to the visuals, but seeing how it was used as an equal player at this event was eye-opening (especially for a music awards show). The audio really elevated the experience, from how the logo animation synced perfectly with sound, to the way transitions between segments were enhanced. It added a whole new level of impact.

🎉 Different vibes for different parts of the night
The event had a strong brand identity. It wasn’t just an ident; it was a full, cohesive theme. Yet, each part of the evening had its own style while staying true to the overall theme. Variations in colours, patterns, and animations kept things engaging and helped break up what could have been repetitive content.

📺 Not all screens need to be for main content
We often lean toward having the biggest possible screens to showcase content, and while that works, there’s real value in having ambient or secondary screens. The EMAs nailed this, with screens on columns, above the stage, and all around showing complementary ambient visuals. It transformed the entire space, not just the main focal points, making everything feel more immersive.

🎥 Loved the broadcast-first approach
Depending on the event, prioritising the broadcast audience can work brilliantly. At the EMAs, the audience felt more like background cheerleaders while the main focus was the cameras and the broadcast viewers. If done right, with the right kind of host, this approach can make a lot of sense for large-scale events.

🤳 Instant social media coverage
MTV’s social media team was on fire! Within an hour, they had interviews, performances, and award moments posted on YouTube and Instagram. And these weren’t just quick stories—they were polished reels with lower thirds and graphics, ready to go. It takes a lot of forward planning and a dedicated team onsite to film, edit, and post, but it’s clearly achievable.

Previously the Mondrian Hotel, there are a variety of event spaces for conferences, drinks receptions and screenings. Within the hotel, there is Blue Marlin Ibiza London, providing opportunities for drinks or dinner in their rooftop restaurant or a glam boujee party in their basement nightclub.

Always wanting to LEVEL UP our clients events it’s super important to look outside the industry and the UK to bring the best ideas for clients. ⁣

Holly has been in NYC at a business conference and got plenty of ideas. ⁣

Here’s some ideas we learnt to help our clients -⁣

Catering - it doesn’t have to be expensive it just has to be different and tasty! We were served sweet and savoury donuts and bagels for breakfast; croissant sandwiches for lunch and pizza as a post conference snack. There were baskets of snacks and cans to grab for additional subsidence. ⁣

AV - if you don’t have lots of content keep it simple with smaller screens with holding slides. If you can deliver your message with Q&A rather than keynotes this saves on content, rehearsal time and tech. It’s just about having the right questions prepared. ⁣

Content - snappy segments on stage - give the audience cards to fill in questions. Some clients like to do this via an app but if budget is tight this is an easy way to engage. ⁣
