As many of you know, on the 10th of May I will be leaving the UK to spend a year teaching in South Korea. ❤️
Over the course of last week I had so many wonderful leaving parties and one of those being at my second home aka Travellers Rest 😊

❤ INTERNATIONAL STUTTERING AWARENESS DAY ❤
Stuttering is a speech disorder that involves frequent and significant problems with normal fluency and flow of speech. People who stutter know what they want to say, but have difficulty saying it.
I was diagnosed with a stutter when I was 3 years old. It was something quite irritating to me as it was something that I was aware of but something I never knew I was doing. Speech therapists were my bestfriend and speech therapy was basically my second home ... I spent my childhood years being reminded to 'turtle talk' and that 'racehorse talk' was bad 😁. Because of my stammer I was always very quiet, nervous and struggled to make friends for a fear I'd been seen as weird.
I spent 5 of my life at speech therapy. Luckily in 2010 I was introduced to Mow cop players I came to my first few rehearsals and clung to my mum every moment I could but then I met some lovely people and had my confidence lifted I later auditioned and got given my first 2 big roles as Maggie in happy as a sandbag and Smiley in Snow white and the seven dwafs. Performing for the first time felt exhilarating it was a way of stepping into someone else's shoes.
During my time at mow cop players I also found a passion for singing. singing for many people with a stammer is a big coping technique. This was my awakening! I could speak to someone without stammering! Just by putting my words to a melody.
During 2021 I had to go back to speech therapy as lockdown has proper done me dirty and I've had alot of problems with my speech when talking once again and with reading to the point where I need other people to read it for me 😅.
Ik I've spent this whole post taking but I just really really want to thank everyone who has helped me over the years, especially my gorgeous family who aided me, who told me to 'turtle-talk', took me to all of my appointments, who treated me like I was "normal" and kept me sane 😆 my friends over the years for being soo
