Kirsty and Maca … such an amazing couple!

The moment I knew we were going to have the best day was a few months before, when it rained and howled with wind on their pre-wedding shoot up in the Roaches and they just embraced it and enjoyed it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s what it’s all about!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This couple love eachother so much, nothing could have bothered them as they got married in the West Barn at The Ashes Barns surrounded by their family and friends after a great morning of preparations with their closest!

They are such a relaxed and fun couple, who just wanted the best day and that they did!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We headed out for some portraits after the ceremony and I finally got to use the new jetty that has been added to the lake at this stunning venue! Which I was very (probably a little bit too excited about)! The grounds of the Ashes are stunning and this is a perfect addition to the place!

I love an evening shot for my couples! We can’t always guarantee a sunset and with the longer summer nights we don’t get the dark as early either, so I like to make something nice for them to end off their gallery!

After getting the first shot in the West Barn, Kirsty and Maca partied the night away with their guests and some wonderful music from the Ashmore Brothers!

Just as I was leaving we got the most dramatic sunset too!

I’ve been working alongside a school in Stoke for a few weeks as part of the “Speak Up” programme.

Speak Up is a secondary school programme that sees young people working in collaboration with local artists and teachers to co-create artistic responses to issues that are most important to them.

The programme aims to encourage new ways for young people to think, see and bring about change.

It’s been wonderful to see all their hard work today come to life at The Regent Theatre!

Anastasiia and Rob live in Dubai and after getting married abroad, they came over to Rob’s home town of Nantwich for their marriage blessing with their closest friends and family.
It was a gorgeous day and the sun shone for them!
I loved the preparations with the girls before heading over to St Mary’s Church for the ceremony.
It’s such a beautiful church and the light on the day made it even more lovely!

After the service we all headed over to the Crown Hotel for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.

Anastasiia and Rob had a little surprise up their sleeves for the evening and I was so excited about it!
Both being Star Wars fans, they had arranged for Darth and his Storm Troopers to stop the cake cutting and start off the evening celebrations!
What a party!

Yesterday I was fortunate to be asked to document the change over of the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent and also my friend Sara's wonderful pottery artwork being handed over at the Mayor's gift.
I’m not a photographer who shys away from the action. I’m not going to stand back and document in a way that I was “just there”!
I want people who look at my pictures to feel like they are there in that moment.
I want to capture the emotion of the event, not just the pretty things! I want to capture the raw moments of joy, laughter and tears!
I hope you enjoy this selection of images from yesterday.

I think this is one of my favourite ever cake cutting photographs!
Being a Star Wars fan myself, I was so excited when Anastasiia and Rob told me their plans to have Darth Vader and two Storm Troopers to march into their cake cut!
And keeping this a surprise from their guests really paid off!

I have known Lauren and Sam for a long time, so it was lovely to be able to capture their big day at Hazel Gap Barn.
It’s the first time I have worked at this venue and I really enjoyed it!
After the ceremony, we took a bit of time out to get some great portraits at this gorgeous venue.
It was such a relaxed day and we were lucky with the weather so we managed to enjoy the grounds too!
At this time of year I love to get some arty evening portraits before the part starts.
The courtyard at Hazel Gap Barn is stunning in the day, but I think even more gorgeous and twinkly at night!
What a party these guys had! With a sax player to entertain guests, foam glow sticks and even the groom gave us a song!

M3 Branding Photography - A Clara Lou Company is going to be re-launched soon with LOTS of new things to offer you!
But for now, one is corporate videography!
Quirky, vibrant videos!
And it’s not just me…. There will be a team of us coming soon to offer lots of services!
I have been practising hard and this is one of my first official jobs and I am pretty proud of what we have created!
There are plenty more videos from this shoot which I will share over the coming weeks.
We will be supplying our clients with a good selection of footage for them to use and share.

My second wedding venue showcase is the stunning Alcumlow Wedding Barn at Alcumlow Hall Farm! I just love working at this venue! I have worked here on the hottest days of the year and the windiest day of the year and it didn’t disappoint at any of them! The wide open barn space allows couples to put their touch and style on their day - it’s an open book! I love how everything is together so your guests are never really apart, not even if they are outside because off the massive barn doors on the entrance! Their newest addition, the stunning Spanish inspired Stone Courtyard Garden. This beautiful space boasts outdoor seating, soft lighting and of course our Italian Copper Stone Baked Pizza Oven, the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. “With love and attention, our traditional Dutch Barn has been transformed into a Rustic Wedding Venue, perfect for any couple dreaming of an untraditional day!
