I get asked all the time about the seemingly high prices of flowers from a Florist and wanted to take the opportunity to address it seeing as Valentine’s and Mother’s Day are just around the corner.

The picture shows one of my premium quality red Roses next to one I purchased from a supermarket in Holmes Chapel this morning… you really do get what you pay for!

My job is to know the ins and outs for all different types of flowers and how to best care for them to ensure their longevity in your home. I only buy from the most reputable growers and farmers in Holland and Britain to ensure you get value and quality for your money.

Valentine’s and Mother’s Day prices are based on a supply and demand model. The growers and farmers have to produce more, spend more on staff, electricity, water etc so of course the price is going to be higher at these times. And let’s be honest, Brexit really hasn’t helped the situation.

Supermarkets sell flowers as a loss leader, the quality is sub par and the farmers are paid a pittance but unfortunately the prices and volumes they can sell at have skewed the publics perception of what quality flowers actually cost.

I order fresh flowers into my workshop several times a week to ensure you or your loved one always receive the best that money can buy.
