Staffordshire Tardis

Staffordshire Tardis TARDIS replica hire based in Stoke-on-Trent. Welcome to our page! We have a Tenth Doctor era TARDIS that is available for hire based in Stoke-on-Trent. Thanks.

Our TARDIS replica has been designed and hand built out of high quality materials to ensure a sturdy construction, while still being easy to put together in any venue. It also includes sound and light systems to give it the demanding presence that the actual prop commands on screen. Originally built for my wedding day, we now would like to offer others the chance to have an iconic prop at their sp

ecial day. So if you need a TARDIS for a party, wedding reception, convention or event, do please get in touch and we'll see what we can do. Payment to be sent via PayPal to [email protected] or cheque made payable to Richard Voisey. All profits donated to The Donna Louise Trust. http://www.donnalouisetrust.org/

Deposit required a month before event date. Outstanding amount to be paid on the day. Please indicate if you wish for me to be present and in costume
with the TARDIS for the day. If so, I will require a room to change into costume and refreshments. Setup requirements:

- 10ft ceiling clearance.
- 10ft square floor clearance.
- 1 x UK mains plug socket for lights and sound effects.
- Level floor.
- Access for unloading TARDIS from trailer.
- Indoor location ideal - TARDIS has not been tested in rainy conditions. There will be signatures inside the TARDIS. These are the signatures of Doctor Who actors. Please do not remove or add your own signatures. All photos taken and owned by myself unless otherwise indicated. Important: as we are based in Stoke-on-Trent in the midlands, we are only able to travel a maximum of 90 minutes each way to your venue - please consider this before contacting us for a quote. We are very sad to learn of the passing of Simon Fisher-Becker, who played Dorium Moldovar in several episodes of Doctor Who. 😭

He was a lovely man and always had time to talk to the fans, and his Doctor Who character was universally loved.

I think the last time we saw Simon was at a Whooverville event, where he was filming a documentary about his life, stopping by our TARDIS to film a piece about the real Police Boxes.

RIP Simon.

Some lovely photos from that Children In Need auction of 13s damaged TARDIS from 'Eve Of The Daleks' shows that it too had the black lamp that was carried over to 14 and 15s box. 😁

I already added this detail to my 15th custom, as I'd seen it in set pictures, but to now see that was used much earlier is very interesting. Time to update those customs. πŸ˜‰

This photo was taken in October 2022 at Stoke Con Trent - it's radio and TV presenter Tim Shaw - best known for Car SOS, the classic car restoration show he co-hosts with Fuzz Townsend.

I've been watching some repeats of the show having got quite into it.

In season 11, episode 3, that was first shown in April 2023, he and his team are restoring a Riley RMF whose owner is from the Staffordshire area.

So a thought occurs - was he in Staffordshire in October 2022 filming what was required for that episode - at the old Kingsley and Froghall station on the Chutney Valley Railway - and is that why he randomly popped by Stoke Con Trent? πŸ€”

So good to finally see the One Show One Big Thankyou segment that we were asked to be a part of.

I'm not sure what the original plan was for us, but the backup plan of involving Catherine Tate and the Doctor Who Prom was much better. πŸ˜‰

Clearly a very deserving fan. πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ

Go to 13:54 in for the segment.

Celebrity MasterChef’s final four contestants Gladiator Nitro, Strictly’s Vito Coppola, actor Rochenda Sandall and Craig Doyle, plus actor Nathalie Emmanuel join Alex Jones and Roman Kemp.

Another custom TARDIS complete! 😁

This time it's the TARDIS as seen in season 5's 'Vincent And The Doctor' - a scene that has The Doctor, Amy and Vincent go to the TARDIS shows that it has been plastered by advertising posters, requiring The Doctor to gain entry by slicing the posters down the center with his key to open the door.

This took a LONG time to complete, having to find images or taking screenshots of each poster, figuring out the correct sizing, testing what paper to print them out on, and then seeing which glue is best to attach them to the plastic of the model.

Each poster is individually cut out and glued in place. 🫑

We have finally technically made it into an issue of Doctor Who Magazine! 😁

A piece about Whooverville 15 on 31st August by guest Jason Quinn features a small photo of our TARDIS from the day, as well as a very sneaky appearance of dad talking to a visitor.

Thanks to Stephen Hatcher for sharing the image of the piece, and to Jason Quinn himself for sending me the original photograph, which shows that I am actually in it. πŸ˜‰

New custom TARDIS complete. 🫑

There seems to be much confusion as to which TARDIS features in the 2nd Doctor story The Web of Fear, with in episode screenshots showing what appears to be a 1st Doctor box, the dvd and Blu-ray artwork showing a generic box, and the steel book showing the Abominable Snowmen box. πŸ˜›

So I decided to make my custom using the box from The War Games and some spare Halloween decorations fake spider web, spreading it as thin as possible without it ripping on all the sides and roof, then glueing in place on the base. πŸ˜‰

New business cards!

After 8 or so years we finally ran out of cards so I had to order new ones, and this rather flashy stand came with them. 😁

We can finally announce that our TARDIS will be appearing at Whooverville 15 at The Quad in Derby on Saturday. πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ

It was touch and go as I was really struggling to get the day off work. πŸ˜›

Looking forward to welcoming everyone and hopefully greet some new guests into it. πŸ˜‰

I was contacted by The One Show yesterday asking to provide our TARDIS for filming of a One Big Thankyou segment on Monday night in London. 😱

Unfortunately we've had to turn them down as I'm working and we couldn't possibly make the logistics of it work even if I was free. 😞

Really sucks having to turn down such huge opportunities, but we have to. 🀷 They've said they can work something else out anyway.

It's my 8th wedding anniversary today, which means it's been 8 years since we made our TARDIS. 🫑
