Our Story

Stoke City are the oldest team in the Championship.

Nicknamed the Potters, the Club was formed in 1863 and played most of its football in the top two tiers of the English game.

The Club's only major honour is the League Cup trophy from 1972, when Chelsea were beaten 2-1 at Wembley Stadium thanks to goals from Terry Conroy and George Eastham.

An FA Cup Final appearance was made in 2011, however, and that achievement enabled the Club to compete in the UEFA Europa League where a total of 12 matches were played before eventually being knocked out by Valencia over two legs in the Round of 32.
