3 things that are a HELL NO from me in 2024...
These have been a no from me for a while.. but let's be vocal
1) COLLABS.
With people who can DEFINITELY afford to pay. I'm not saying never collab.. I'm saying in 2024 it's time we as industry say no dear event planner who is looking to save themselves money..or pocket it themselves "WE WILL NOT WORK FOR EXPOSURE".. the cost of my time and stock is not worth your "exposure" which is very often just results in more collab requests.
2) COMPETITIVE PRICING...
Like wtf even is this? Price for your own overheads. Price for your own wage. Purposefully undercutting your neighbour for the sake of a couple of quid. It gives the ick.
3) DRAMA AND INDUSTRY POLITICS
Of any kind. Of every kind. Stay the f away from me. The mean girl vibes can be left in 2024 along with the awful remake of the movie. Let's get back to celebrating each other's and our own strengths and not looking for others weaknesses.

Taxes, stock cost increases, rent increases.
Fact is... since is started in late 2021..prices of balloons have doubled and prices of helium has nearly from some sellers tripled too!
Customers will understand- inflation effects everyone.
I'm not saying be greedy. I'm saying make sure like EVERY OTHER BUSINESS - you're making money!
If you're prices stay the same constantly you may wanna re assess. Have a look at your income/expenditure.. look at your revenue and profits..

Professional balloon artists - like myself - are insured. Whether it's through @bapiaparty or someone else, we all have to adhere to insurance policies.
Our insurance ONLY covers us when we use professional grade materials therfore... if we use none EU verified or professional quality products if something goes wrong... we're up poop creek.
Same goes with backdrops! The reason most artist don't and won't decorate a none professional grade backdrop is purely because ours we know how to weight securely and safely, lots especially sequin walls are fire tested/regulated and the risk assessments that we HAVE to do are based on our own props.
So next time you think a balloon artist is being a mardy bum... we're actually just covering our backs.
