Live At The Cottage

Live At The Cottage It is currently inactive, but never say never. 'Live At The Cottage' was organised by David Booth and Ian Mantel. Ian sadly passed away in 2021.

LATC was a series of concerts in the intimate and atmospheric setting of Dove Cottage in Debenham, Suffolk, featuring the highest quality acoustic artists and appealing to a wide range of tastes & genres. Everything is currently on hold. This is what it used to do...

A series of concerts in the intimate (50 capacity!) and atmospheric setting of Dove Cottage in Debenham, Suffolk. Featuring the hi

ghest quality acoustic artists and appealing to a wide range of tastes & genres – basically we book people that write and perform great songs. Each month we aim to bring you a top notch touring act, an exceptional regional act and an up & coming act (as often as possible from the local area around us here in Mid-Suffolk). Dove Cottage is a facilty used by the community, but essentially is still a lovely old cottage which lends itself to a relaxed, ‘house concert’ feel. Rarely will you get the opportunity to get so close to artists of this quality. There is no bar at the cottage so we invite you to bring your own refreshments and glasses. We will provide the venue, atmosphere, music, chairs (and toilets) for a modest entry fee. Should you feel thirsty before and/or after the show (music will start at 7.40pm and finish at 10pm sharp so we don’t upset the neighbours), the delightful Woolpack pub is a mere twenty-second stroll down the hill. Dove Cottage is fully accessible.

Back in the day, our opening act for the very first Live At The Cottage was Lucy Sampson... now, Lucy Hart of the mighty Honey & The Bear, who last night treated us to a magnificent evening of music at Debenham Community Centre. A full house, no less. The opening act (Kelly Bayfield Music & David Edward Booth, with Jonathan Evans on cello) wasn't bad either! 😉
Manny used to talk about the idea of putting on some "Live at The C... Community Centre!" gigs, when time and the right acts allowed. Sadly, time took Manny, so it wasn't to be. But last night it felt like our wish was finally granted.
Thanks to everyone involved in making this gig happen. Thanks also to everyone who filled the Octagon with applause and warmth.
David 🙂

Lots of great acts!
We hope to see there.

It is with great sadness that we inform all Stand & Deliver followers, that Ian ‘Manny’ Mantel passed away in hospital in Bulgaria early in the morning of Tuesday 5th October.
‘Manny’ was a founding member of Stand & Deliver open mic nights, and a leading force in their resumption nearly 6 years ago.
Our deepest sympathy and thoughts go to Brian and his family and to Julie.
‘Manny’ made friends easily wherever he went, with many in Debenham and locally, and most recently in his Bulgarian community.
He will be remembered for his charm, his humour, his kindness and for those of us lucky enough to have heard it – his music.
Stand & Deliver owes much to our musical friend.
