Trying to disguise myself as a Dahlia 🌸

The dahlia patch in the paddock, is in full picking swing. Everyday showing off just how many flowers they can bloom in record time despite the regular cuttings. They really are a force to be reckoned with in the flower farming world ☀️

These will now take centre stage in every Petals bouquet, heading out the stable door 🚚

We’ve been a little quiet ……

It’s with such heavy hearts that we announce the closure of our little flowery biz Geum 🧡

We could chat all day long about the ins and outs of our final decision but we want to say goodbye on a high 🙌🏼 instead sharing a reel of all we’ve accomplished in our years of business. A tiny little snippet into what two besties running a small business looks like - (quite a few videos and photos I can’t share because we make jokes that no one else would find funny and the photos aren’t up to scratch 🤪)

Me (Leanne) 👋🏼 you can find me over STILL flowering and focussing so much more energy and time (the few snippets I have when Autumn isn’t needing something 😂) into growing British blooms 🌻 Flowers are in my blood, I think I’ll always be doing something surrounded by blooms 💚

Sian - she’s taking a step back from flowers after more than 6 years in this floral world 🌸 it’s time for a new, exciting challenge 🤩 (I’m so jealous of her freedom and youth 🤣) there’s even talk of some jet setting ✈️🌍 yep, completely and utterly jealous!!!!!

We will still be having regular dog walks together 🐶 and who knows, she may be encouraged to make some flowery appearances for me in the future 😍😍😍

We personally can’t help but fall in love with these muted tones ❄️ (and we’re gals that normally adore clashy colours 🌈) but there’s just something about the simplicity and how those white amaryllis are the perfect, snowy white colour to reflect the views outside⛄️

Deliveries in the dark 🌙 and Mrs Claus wowing under the evening light ✨

It’s been a wild week here at Geum HQ!!!! 🧡 We started the week off with the last of our wreath workshops, which have just been the MOST fun - thank you thank you thank you to each one of our attendees ⭐️ you’ve been amazing, we’ve had so many giggles and you’ve all made the most gorgeous wreaths, that we’d love to sell ourselves 😍

Now it’s all about wreaths to order!!!! We’ll be dropping more of our creations to this afternoon, for anyone picking their tree this weekend 🌲 But before then, we’re making and delivering your chosen designs 💚 You’re keeping us gals very much out of trouble this year and the website is still open for wreath orders next week and beyond 🌟 There’s still time to get yours!!!!

Blue and green should never be seen 👀

Well that’s not the case in our book 💙💚 it’s all about the green and blue shades of foliage to make the base for our winter wreaths. Quite often, we think they look just as pretty…as when they do when we add in the decoration 🎄

Despite our tired eyes and having hands that are almost beyond repair 🙌🏼 we’re surviving and thriving 😍 absolutely loving fulfilling all your gorgeous orders and feeling pretty stoked that you’ve chosen us to create, make or teach you your door decor this year 🧡 you’re keeping two flower ladies extremely happy (albeit a bit chilly) ❄️

THAT working/mum life/business owner/flower grower/dog mum and just trying to keep a smile on my face JUGGLE🤹‍♀️ (and let’s not even mention keeping the house tidy or on top of washing) oh and just so happens to be the busiest time of year 🙃

Just taking a moment to reflect and say hey 👋🏼 to anyone else who’s finding themselves struggling no matter the work load you seem to find yourself in ⭐️ sometimes I think it’s very easy to get lost in a world of Instagram that looks so perfect!!!! BUT please let me tell you, mine certainly isn’t and this Christmas is particularly tricky 🌪️ but thanks to some incredible people in my life😍….I’m just about managing to keep my head above the flowers (well spruce and oranges this time of year 😂) and finding pockets where I can actually sit back and enjoy what I’m making or doing 🧡

I hand delivered a wreath to a gorgeous customer in my village…thinking it was a good idea to team up nap time, dog walk before it got dark and deliver the wreath 😬 despite how cute this picture looks it was chaos and had a constant battle with two dogs getting caught up in the pushchair and a little lady 🍁 who refused to sleep 👀 luckily the wreath made it ~ unharmed and looking gorgeous 🎄 phew. Note to self - never do that again 😂

It’s all hands (and paws) on deck this year ⭐️ Although I did catch the help laying down on the job and using our scissors as a pillow… I can’t imagine that was super comfy 😂 Wilson giving you a true glimpse of workshop life 🧡

It’s the time of year I fear we are beginning to look a wreath ourselves!!!! We had the most fun at Ilimington school last night - so many giggles, smiles and the most gorgeous wreaths were made! 🌲 Tonight we have our first workshop at 🤩 and we are SO excited to see the loveliness you all create!!!

But first, it’s coffee in hand and van on… delivering wreaths to your door, ready for the first day of December tomorrow ❄️

First workshop of 2022 ✅

Yesterday we welcomed our first group of festive wreathers to and what a beautiful group they were 🎄
Filling up on homemade Christmas nibbles, drinking mulled wine and singing along to good old Christmas songs…with a little bit of wreath making too 😂 what a gorgeous way to welcome in one of my favourite, festive past times ✨
Now it’s a day of wreath making ahead, and with another wreath workshop to prep for tonight at Ilmington School…we had best get the coffee on and hands into gear 🧡

The most vibrant wreath you could choose to have on your door this year 🌈 I think I speak for both of us when I say this is a bit of us!!!!!

We have gathered the brightest festive florals we could think of to make this absolutely beauty (if we do say so ourselves😂)! Using dried and fresh elements such as statice, foraged grasses and rose hips, thistle, a mix of spruce and pine from the wonderful Warwickshire Christmas Trees, eucalyptus and sliced oranges…. Just to name a few!!!! 🧡 The Nutcracker really has it all - bursting with colour and a bit of everything we can get our hands on ⭐️

For our greenery lovers out there, this one is for you! 🌿 We’ve collected, found and foraged nature’s finest goodies, bound and nestled them together, to create our wreath named after the greenest Christmas character one could think of! 🌲

FULL of texture, tones and allllll the shades of green 🍏 this is a classically Christmas, fun and characterful… just like the Grinch himself!!!! To complete the look, we’ve gathered Nordic spruce, variegated holly, pine, conifer and ivy along with foraged teasels and rosehips 🍃 Finished off with a festive red bow for good measure ✨

Oh hello Mrs Claus 👋🏼

She’s a beauty isn’t she?! You can see why Santa Claus loves her so 😍

Full to the brim with deep, velvety tones adding a richness and depth to its overall look 💜
We’ve added pockets of hydrangeas, sprinklings of statice and dustings of petrol coloured berries 🤩 (it sounds like a M&S advert 😂 - may as well roll with it) this isn’t just any Christams wreath ~ it’s a Geum florist Christams wreath 😉
We foraged some hedgerow goodies too….Bracken, Ivy and myrtle 🙌🏼

Made using willow grown just a few short miles down the road from our workshop and moss gathered up in Norfolk ⭐️

Making our Christmas wreaths “insta official”… introducing the dreamiest combo of whites, silvers and greens ⭐️
Jack Frost is the definition of a chilly, winter’s morning ☁️ This may be our most muted design we have ever created, but it is absolutely a firm favourite of ours!

Created using silver spruce from , foraged conifer, green eryngium, homegrown and dried straw flowers, honesty and statice 🤍 Completed with sprinklings of rustic Spanish moss, white berk twigs and pine cones (collected on our many dog walks) ✨

Something to brighten up this gloomy day ☀️

Sunshine florals doing all the things we need right now 🧡🧡🧡 the most gorgeous fix including a rose….yes A ROSE….picked from the paddock in NOVEMBER 😳

Throwback to a couple of months ago, when we had dahlias and zinnias until our heart’s content 🌸 I can’t quite believe I forgot to post this at the time - ✨ capturing the tones of those early autumnal days 🍂

Now we are well into the swing of autumn, verging on the chilliness that comes with winter ❄️ Luckily, we are keeping busy with flower orders and, of course, making masses of our willow based wreaths, ready for the madness to commence!!!! Before then, it’s the “calm before the storm” this week 🌟 We are getting ourselves prepared and organised for what will hopefully be, our busiest time of the year! Watch this space for wreaths incoming… 👀

I Picked up the most gorgeous bundle (actually more like the biggest armful 😂) of willow rods from the insanely incredible Clare last week and oh my ~ I’m in love!! Seriously they’re so beautiful, I want to leave them as a display in my home forever!!!!🧡
BUT they have a purpose…..a calling of their own 🙌🏼 to create our bases for Christmas wreaths 🎄

We adore working with local, like minded craftspeople and when it aids our mission to be completely sustainable EVEN better!!!!! 🌱

We had the loveliest time yesterday morning at Warwickshire Christmas Trees, hand picking foliage, ready to bring this years wreath designs to life!!! 🌲 We cannot WAIT to be back there, doing workshops and selling our wreaths this year ⭐️ it’s going to be the most fun!
Today we are picking up our willow 🧡 and then it’s make, make, make!!!!

In the meantime, we’re delivering florals all over today - it’s not too late if you’d like a little something to brighten up the pending weekend ✨

Oh we do love an autumnal wreath 🍂 Foliage foraged from the hedgerows, fresh florals picked out of the paddock and dried flowers taken from our hanging arrangements! 🌸
I just couldn’t resist posting a pic of this little beauty, made a few weeks ago now, but very much regretting not making more!!! 🫣 Although, it was a nice practice run for the mammoth wreath making sessions pending ⭐️ and there will be plenty of wreath content then!!! 😂

We’ve made it to Friday! 🙌🏼 I hope you all have gorgeous weekends ahead planned, ones that involve lots of bonfires, cosiness and hot chocolates ❄️ You’ll find me snuggled with the dogs next to the fire this weekend ✨

What to do with your pumpkins after Halloween🎃….use it as a flower prop of course 😂 this Crown Prince from worked as the perfect chrysanthemum stand, lifting them just enough off the stall to showcase all those Autumnal tones we have going on with our home grown flower of the moment 🧡
Chrysanthemums get a bad rep, all those years sat on garage forecourts will do that to a flower. But these, these are different …. When they’re in season (which is now 🙃) and resemble those bountiful blooms of dahlias, not to mention all those peaches, oranges and red tones that look almost good enough to eat ~ how can you compare and brush these to the side with your normal views on such a bloom?! 🌸 Have we mentioned, they have been known to last for as long as 4 weeks in a vase 😍🙌🏼 And if you need just one more reason to be swayed, did you know they have a lovely scent too?! It’s sweet, but earthy, I personally love it!🌈

So come on, have we convinced you to love the chrysanthemum yet?🧡
