Just a wee update regarding Strathaven Flower Shop.
Unfortunately due to circumstances outwith my control there has been no progress with repairs to my shop despite almost 5 months passing since the fire damage occurred.
I will enjoy a much quieter and relaxing Christmas this year and would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

I have been truly overwhelmed by the number of lovely messages and offers of help and support from so many people. Thank you all so much!
Too many to respond to individually so just thought I would update you all on my situation.

It was with great shock and sadness that I discovered what had happened via Facebook in the early hours of Friday morning. I was so sorry to hear that Anne Davison and a member of her staff had been injured in the blaze, to what extent I still don’t know, but my very best wishes go out to them for a full and speedy recovery.

I’ve still not been allowed access to my shop so have not been able to assess the damage myself. I have however been told that my front shop is intact, unfortunately my back shop has roof and water damage. I have also just been notified by SLC Health & Safety that unfortunately, Scottish Fire and Rescue have identified that there was asbestos present in the premises which caught fire and that asbestos particles may have spread into my shop and neighbouring properties. I have therefore been served a prohibition notice meaning that no one can enter the building until there have been checks carried out to ensure that it is safe to do so. I will need to have air and swab tests carried out and if asbestos is found then my shop must be cleaned by a specialist company to remove it.
I’m feeling sad and a bit overwhelmed at this whole tragic event, the consequences of which are just now beginning to sink in. However it’s bricks and mortar that can in time be fixed and sorted out. I am so grateful that neither myself or my lovely co-worker Elaine were not in the shop when this tragic event happened. Things could have been much worse.
I hope to be back in action again soon but only time will tell how long that will take.

Due to the explosion and fire at the shop premises next door to Strathaven Flower Shop I’m afraid I won’t be able to fulfil my flower orders today as I am not allowed to enter the building until the fire service confirm it to be safe.
As yet I have no idea as to the extent of damage to my shop. It’s been a shocking night to say the least.
I will update you all once I know the situation and hope that my lovely wee shop and business will be in action again soon.
Thanks for all the lovely kind messages I’ve been receiving all morning. It means a lot to me!

Strathaven Flower Shop will now be closed until Tuesday 19th April due to a family bereavement.

Loved doing these flowers for wedding in Loch Green recently.
Blue hydrangeas, delphinium, euryngium, avalanche cream roses and ocean song lilac roses, Veronica, wax flower, freesia and lovely mixed foliage.
Hopefully this year will be a better one for enjoying wedding celebrations.
I’m looking forward to creating lots of beautiful flowers for all the weddings that have been rearranged for this year instead of last year.

Strathaven Flower Shop is an official stockist of The Fabulous Frenchic paint range. It really is an amazing product with a huge following.
Here is some information for those of you are not familiar with it.
Also check out the Frenchic fan forum on Facebook to see what people are doing with it. Everything from painting their plastic window frames and doors to revamping their kitchen units and upcycling tired pine furniture.
Amazing what can be achieved with Frenchic and some time and effort.
