Absolutely loving these pictures that Eilidh and Ben have sent me through from their SUPER fun and colourful wedding in May. I just love these little behind the scenes images from Lydia and Matt’s special day a few weeks ago. When I deliver your flowers I will always spend a bit of time talking you through your bouquet and explain how to hold it because it’s not often that you get to walk around with a bunch of flowers as an accessory!! For the lovely Carol. First wedding of the year for me and it was a good one! Lots of colour and British flowers! Such a lovely wedding to work on (just wish I’d taken some more pictures). It was so lovely to use lots of locally grown flowers again a big thank you to and for supplying me with so many lovely flowers to work with and for some Cornish goodies as well!

The Wedding Process Part 3: The Big Day!! After months possibly years of planning the big day is finally here! I thrive on the energy of a big event and I love this part of our journey the most! I will have all of your wedding flowers prepared and ready to go. Now it’s time to finish off your bouquets with a ribbon and pack them carefully into their travel containers- I will always deliver your fresh flowers in water. The car is loaded and off we go! I will deliver your bouquets to you personally and talk you through looking after them and how to carry them to show them off to their best effect. I will then go and set up your florals at your venue. If you are having a larger installation I will build this on site which can involve spending quite a bit of time up a ladder! The Wedding Process Step 2: Once you have booked Silver Birch Flowers then the fun really begins! We will go through the proposal to make sure you are happy with every detail of your florals. If you are having an installation or if you are not quite sure how to dress and style your venue we can arrange to go and visit it together so we can discuss ideas. I will plan recipes for the designs for your wedding and begin to source the flowers. I LOVE using seasonal locally grown flowers so I will source as many of your flowers from local growers as I can. I love to work with and and am always looking for other local growers to work with. I also use imported flowers from who have to see me at my absolute worst at 5:30am in the morning (sorry guys). I will make sure I order your flowers in at the right moment so they are in the best condition for your wedding. In the week before your wedding there is a lot of bucket washing happening then the flowers start to arrive. They need to be prepared and conditioned properly to make sure they are happy and at their best. The day before your wedding is the busiest this is when I will make and prepare the majority of your designs. I like to send you a sneak peek of your bouquet to make sure you love it! Coming next Step 3 the big day!!!

The Wedding Process Part 1: Consultation and Booking. Organising a wedding is hard work you need to make so many decisions and juggle booking lots of different suppliers! I’ve tried to make my wedding process as simple yet personal as I can. Step 1: Consultation - I like to start with a consultation. I think having a proper conversation means that we can get to know each other better and helps me to understand exactly what you are looking for in your wedding flowers. I like to create some design boards to share with you during our consultation as a picture paints a thousand words! Following on from this I will send you a written estimate which details what we discussed at your consultation. You can then spend some time looking over this to help you decide if you would like to proceed to step 2 which is making a booking! Step 2: If you decide you would like to book I then send you over details of a deposit and my contract to enable you to secure your chosen date. Stay tuned for part 2!

What if I don’t like flowers? I’ve spoken to a few brides at recent wedding fairs who don’t really like flowers and are not sure what to do.
Firstly if you don’t like flowers you don’t have to have them! Do what makes you happy. There are alternatives out there! Another option is to consider more foliage based designs. I am a little bit obsessed with succulents at the moment they are like a little leafy flower or you could add some quirky dried elements into the mix or even vegetables such as brassicas or artichokes! Images 2&3 are of my lovely bride Gemma from last year who wanted to focus her florals on beautiful textures of foliage scattered with a few flowers for pops of colour- images from the wonderful (except for the first one which is my handiwork).

I had a lovely day talking wedding flowers at Bath Racecourse wedding Fayre yesterday. It was so good to meet to meet so many lovely couples and chat with lots of amazing wedding suppliers! For those I took details for consultations from keep an eye on your emails over the coming week for details. If you would like a free consultation please drop me a message. I love wedding fairs as it gives me the opportunity to meet and talk to couples face to face which makes the whole experience much more personal. I have two more Fayres this year one with .events27 on Sunday 24th March and one with on Sunday 14th April.
