First dress I've made for a couple of years...

My wonderful pal got married to her love last weekend and I had the honour of making her dress. My favourite part was getting to spend more time hanging out and seeing her radiance shine out as golden as the fabric she was clothed in.

We'll, as usual I'm super late to the party, however I just wanted to share that not one, but two of my preloved wedding dress collection make star appearances in this wild elopement shoot with a whole heap of wonderful suppliers, back just before the world burst into life..

We were a last minute addition to the Wedding Fair at on Sunday, taking the place of someone who'd dropped out. Thank you for inviting me, Jules!

I already had a commitment to do a fitting for my gorgeous sister's wedding dress, so set up my dresses at the fair, go and do her fitting, and then enjoyed looking around it with her, seeing it from a brides perspective for the first time, taking the time to meet some of the other suppliers, sample their delicious cakes, and to stop for a bite of lunch in the brewery. A very different wedding fair experience!

It's unusual to find an all-natural-fibre lace in such beautiful designs and I'm a little bit in love with this one.

This 'lace' is quite unusual as it's an embroidery on a silk crinkle chiffon. Modern laces are often embroidered onto polyester or nylon bases meaning that they feel less luxurious and is not biodegradable in the long run.

It also required some couture techniques to sew the seams and hems, which are bound with a delicate silk chiffon.

So here's some close ups of Kate's dress. I hope you appreciate the fabric as much as I do.

Yumm, I loved working with this crinkle silk chiffon with a gorgeous embroidered leaf pattern. All natural fibres and so so soft.

Here's the Calico Toile of a jacket I made to go with a wedding dress. The bride () had designed and printed her own fabric for this one! The fabric was a gorgeous Lily of the valley print, which held a lot of significance for Susie, and the toile looks pretty great too!

I can't wait to see the whole outfit!

I used a liberty's pattern for this project which was novel as I almost always cut my own patterns. We did make some alterations to make it slightly more fitted and shorter as it was originally a short pattern.
