We are a place that convenes people and organisations from many disciplines in support of creative endeavour, a flourishing society and a sustainable environment. We aim to nurture and develop creativity that is personally fu

lfilling and resource people to respond positively to our current and future societal and environmental context. Founded in 1948, Hawkwood is a registered charity and its educational activity supports the wellbeing of people and planet through diverse approaches offering a unique and compelling range of courses, talks and events across four key areas: Sustainability, Leadership, Arts & Wellbeing. Hawkwood is a Grade II listed 19th Century country house surrounded by forty-two acres overlooking the Severn Vale. Ten acres of sustainably managed woodland bounds the estate, acres of grassland are managed by Stroud Community Agriculture and the gardens comprise of a Victorian half-walled garden growing fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers for use within the house. An award-winning pond and wetlands system process household output, while mature ornamental grounds with a magnificent sycamore stand beside the constantly flowing Hawkwood spring. Tucked away in the woods situated behind the house is the Woodland Sanctuary, a place for quiet and stillness, available for use by Hawkwood guests. All of this is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hawkwood is a wonderfully peaceful location in which you can relax, explore and learn. Hawkwood is the choice venue for courses, meetings and corporate events, aiming to have an ethical and sustainable approach to its work. With seven function rooms and thirty bedrooms sleeping up to fifty people, Hawkwood is a versatile place for residential courses, conferences, away days, seminars and events. Join Satish Kumar for a transformative weekend journey, exploring the essence of love in all areas of life. Discover how love, like gravity, holds together our relationships and grounds our actions. Through guided discussions, meditations, and Qi Gong with June Mitchell, this course invites you to cultivate self-love, compassion for others, and a deep connection to nature.

Together, we’ll ask: How can love inspire our politics, business, science and all the other activities in life? Guided by Satish’s philosophy of Radical Love and June’s mindfulness practices, you’ll leave with insights and tools to live with purpose and presence. On this weekend participants will also spend time in the tranquil surroundings of Hawkwood and discover how radical love can bring joy in life.

Hidden Notes

Due to the high winds today and to ensure people's safety, the Sonic Woodland installation will not be running.

🌿 We are planning for the installation to be running tomorrow (Saturday 25th), but please refer back to our socials before heading out as we will keep you updated if the forecast changes.

🌳 The installation will not be running on Sunday 26th January, but will be back on Monday 27th for its final few days of playing!
