If you start to feel peckish head to the Market Square where you will find something to eat to suit all members of the family, covering a wide variety of dietary requirements.

With a strong commitment to local food and drinks producers this year there will be over 40 exhibitors across the Market Square selling a wide range of delicious produce both hot and cold, including local independent supermarket D**e & Sons, Stalbridge, who are sponsoring the Market Square again this year.

Head over to the Machinery & Timber Yard to learn more about countryside craft and tradition and see vintage and modern machinery at work. This year the M&T Yard is even bigger, with more machinery demonstrations including steam and stationary engines.

Here you can also watch chainsaw carving displays and the daredevil stunts of the Adams Axemen display, whilst perusing trade stands selling all things timber and machinery, including cut wood, metalwork, flues and coppice work.

Following an accident on the farm last year, we are raising awareness of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance for the incredible work they do to help our local communities. We are so grateful for their support and assistance.

Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance provides life-saving, pre-hospital critical care to patients in need and each mission costs approx. £3000.

You can find Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance in their usual spot at the Oak Fair - by the Crusader Oak on Conservation Row, so please go and say hello make a donation if you are able to spare a pound or two. It is also possible to donate online: dsairambulance.org.uk/donate

Come along to St Barnabas Church, next to Stock during the Oak Fair to hear acapella singing by Bagatelle (Saturday) and poetry recitals by the William Barnes Poetry Society (Sunday). There will also be a short church service at midday each day and all are welcome.

St Barnabas church is the parish church of Stock Gaylard. It is not known precisely when it was built but it existed at the time of the Crusades since a Crusader, believed to be Sir Ingelramus de Waleys, was buried here and his effigy still exists, which dates the church back to the 12th or 13th Century.

Follow the bridge over the ha-ha to Stock House and take a pause with coffee, cake or ice-cream while enjoying the views of the historic deer park and oak woodland estate.

Here you can also try your hand at willow sculpture with Welig, archery with the Purbeck Archers, as well as have-a-go scything sessions with experienced scythesman Chris Riley from Pratensis Countryside Services.

Keep the kids busy with a whole range of activities to enjoy at the Oak Fair this year!

Children can try their hand at tree climbing, charcoal drawing or driving a mini Land Rover. They can take a trip around the fair on the barrel train, whizz down the zip wire or learn some bush craft skills. We also have face painting, circus skills, scarecrow building, tractor trailer rides and archery!
