For Emily & Ryan’s special day back in April they requested Peonies, Gypsophila, Chamomile (Daisies) and Eucalyptus. I added Astilbe into their recipe to add some interest and cream Spray Roses to soften the yellow in the daisies.

Sometimes couples come to me with a clear vision of what they would like and some have no clue where to start, both are absolutely fine! I love consultations, just imagine someone taking time out of their day to come to talk to you about your passion. Just as I wouldn’t know how to do your job, don’t worry I don’t expect anyone to know their Lisianthus or Limonium 🌸

With The Great British Bake Off back on our screens tonight what better time to share some beautiful wedding cakes that we have provided flowers and foliage for and answer a few frequently asked questions! 🎂

What flowers/foliage can we have on our cake?
We can only supply your cake designer with non-toxic flowers and foliage (for example gypsophila and eucalyptus should never be put on a cake however roses and herbs are fine) we can discuss in more detail what you can/can’t have at one of our free consultations 💌

How do the materials get to the reception location?
We usually deliver them to the reception location on the morning of the wedding, the exact timing can be found on your timeline that you will receive from us around six weeks prior explaining where we will be and when. This is also sent to the coordinator at your venue, wedding planner and cake designer, so there’s one less thing for you to think about. The materials are delivered in water and left in a cool dark place 🚚

Who puts the flower on the cake?
Your cake designer will add the flowers and foliage to the cake and we always provide plenty of products for them to work with 💓

👏 Our largest wedding yet 👏 Behind the scenes I have been planning this wedding for the best part of a year. From mood-boards to ordering, staffing to road closures, the task was nothing short of enormous.

I often think the phrase “blood, sweat and tears” must’ve come from a florist. Wedding floristry is early mornings, late nights, physically demanding (see plaster on my knee), working on weekends, working in all weathers and to tight time constraints. However, when you stand back and look at what you have created for your clients it is worth every second.
