We’re so here for this. Last week, visitors to the arts centre were randomly treated to hearing Sinfonia Viva and local musicians rehearsing for a project we’re collaborating on with Orchestras Live
Adults with learning disabilities will come together with people living with dementia, and residents of Sudbury care homes, to perform a very special concert at the end of July, helping to bring the highest quality of music to those that otherwise really wouldn’t have the opportunity to participate at this professional level.
We are very grateful to the Arts Council and Babergh cllrs who have helped to fund this magical project. If you’d like to contribute as a sponsor please get in touch and we’d be very happy to pick up that conversation. Perhaps you can help fund the printing of the programme, or contributing ££ towards the overall project cost. Any help is gratefully received. We want to do much more of this kind of work, but can only do that with your continued support.

We are absolutely over the moon that the The Churches Conservation Trust have received the Museums + Heritage Awards Conservation or Restoration of the Year 2024 award.
The judges said “All of us judges were hugely impressed with this Churches Conservation Trust project. To professionally, meticulously conserve and repurpose this redundant grade 1 listed church to become a vibrant, inclusive, buzzy Arts Centre at the heart of Sudbury is an astonishing achievement. We particularly loved the fact that this project was more than conserving bricks and mortar, it was about introducing heart, warmth, welcome and love into the community. This is a showcase for conservation with love and care."
This recognises the partnership bringing together the conservation and regeneration expertise of the CCT combined with the passion and drive of The Bridge Sudbury as social tenants managing Sudbury Arts Centre for the benefit of our service users and the community.

It was a superb night even with the false fire alarm which happened during the interval (vaping in the toilets - please, please dont do this as it causes anxiety and disruption to an otherwise great evening🙏)!

We were very lucky to have hosted the Suffolk Villages Festival yesterday evening, featuring the brilliantly talented Gonzaga Band bringing together sacred and secular music. The core ensemble comprises of Jamie Sagan (Director, Cornett), Faye Newton (Soprano) and Steven Devine (Harpsichord).
Here is a snippet from last night with accompanying imagery from our beautiful home, redundant medieval church of St Peter’s in Sudbury. Faye’s beautiful singing almost defied belief with “Beato mi direi” ft Steven on harpsichord.
Whilst it may no longer be a place of public worship, the venue is far from redundant, and with an inclusive ethos is visited by thousands of people from all walks of life, as a community arts and heritage space.
We host or provide high quality concerts and gigs that range from music like this to the contemporary and our programme is building steadily now. See our website link for what’s coming up.
