Award-winning Greek chef Christos Georgakis has opened a new deli, cafe and bakery in Southgate on the Gower Peninsula with the help of a £50,000 loan from the Development Bank of Wales.

We are preparing to open THIS SATURDAY (24th August)!!

As you know from our updates, we have been delayed with this opening and we did think long and hard about leaving it until we come back from Greece at the beginning of October, but the excitement got too much and we are feeling the anticipation out there and are always being asked “when are you opening?”...

So....we have decided to have a “soft” opening from this Saturday until 2nd October when we will be adding more for you enjoy. Our opening hours during this time will be Wed-Sun, 9am to 5pm.

For now, you can come and browse the Deli which will be stocked with cured meats, a selection of cheeses, fresh cream, Welsh butter, speciality sauces, crackers, rice, dry pasta, pickles, jams, chutneys and other lovely Mediterranean and Welsh Deli items.

On offer will also be grab and go freshly cooked meals to take away such as Private chef christos award winning Moussaka (Great Taste Award 🌟) and other popular Greek dishes.

Our cafe area will be open serving speciality Crafty Smugglers coffee, freshly baked cakes, artisan Italian sandwiches, quiches, Greek salad, homemade couscous and other baked products.

No doubt as a brand new business we may have a couple of teething problems so please bear with us as we find our feet! Your feedback, good or bad 🙈, is gratefully received so we can work hard to bring you the full Gower Deli experience from October, when we will be a fully licensed premises and will be adding wines and micro brewery beers along with our Greek Street food and Tapas and Wine tasting evenings.

Thank you all for your support, understanding and enthusiasm for our new and exciting venture, and we look forward to welcoming you in from this Saturday 😀

THE GOWER DELI IS HIRING!!!

Required - General Manager for Cafe, Bakery and Delicatessen based in Southgate,
Gower.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, personable, hands-on general manager where the focus is giving the customer an exceptional experience.

Our ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking individual who will turn their knowledge and know-how into great new ideas to help our business grow and have supervisory experience, be competent in managing EPOS systems in a Café/Restaurant environment and will ideally be Barista trained.

The role will involve overseeing all aspects of the front of house operation to include the day to day running of the Deli and Café including the safe opening and closing of the store, stock control/ordering, staff management/rota duties and social media marketing.

Hours – Full Time (Min. 30 hours per week) 5 days a week, including weekends (with flexibility on a rota basis)
Wages – Negotiable on experience.
