Valentine’s Day is a time for romantic gestures and thoughtful gifts, and there are many people out there who consider red roses to be the ultimate symbol of love and affection. If you were lucky enough to be gifted with a beautiful bouquet of these stunning flowers, you’ll want to make sure they last as long as possible.
Here is 8 SIMPLE STEPS for you to follow to get the BEST out of your #roses and keep them fresh 🌹
1. Clean your Vase
2. Fill it two thirds full with fresh water, pour in flower food and stir
3. Unwrap from the packaging and protective wrap they were delivered in. Leave the florists tie in place to keep the shape of the design
4. Remove any guard petals which may have been left on to protect the delicate blooms from their journey
5. Cut of 2cm of the stem at a 45 degree angle
6. Carefully remove any foliage or thorns that sit below the waterline to prevent algae and bacteria to form
7. Display away from heat sources, direct sunlight, cooling vents or ripening fruit
8. Check the water on a daily basis. Top up if needed. Every 2-3 days recut the stems and refresh the water.
