We’re thrilled to kick off the New Year with a special collaboration for Valentine’s weekend. Experts in cooking over fire, Chefs and have created a bespoke six-course menu celebrating the finest ingredients, which will be served in the romantic atmosphere of the Pavilion for an unforgettable dining experience. Wedding Coordinator, I work closely with couples throughout the whole process of organising their wedding, from their very first viewing with us, taking care of the small details to running their big day!

You thought that we were done… well we’ve still got more of our lovely team to show off and today it’s Richard’s turn!

𝗠𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Hi, I'm the sous chef, I'm Tony's second in command and his number one partner in crime. I support and lead the kitchen team and help in the day-to-day running of our very busy and fast-paced kitchen so we can deliver quality food and smiles to all our happy customers.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺
I like to think I bring a lot of love, smiles, passion and cheekiness to the team and the food. I'm always on hand to keep everyone smiling and their tummies full so we can deliver the best.

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸
It's got to be either a nice cold Corona especially after a busy hot day in the kitchen or some of the Cripps famous own coffee we offer at our venue.

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀
For me it's got to be the marinated pork or the dhal which is always the one dish I love to cook. I've been told by the rest of the team mine is especially incredible… or is that more like incredidhal! 😏

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆
For me it's got to be after all the hard work and time and love we put into the food and setting up the day for one of our lucky couples. We get a sense of achievement and pride seeing the reactions and smiles and happy faces to the food we have served them to make their day even more special.

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿
It's got to be spring time, just at the start of the season seeing the garden come to life and the first of many happy couples getting to enjoy our surroundings and enjoy their day.

Next in the line up of our team introductions the legend himself, always wearing a smile, and a photographer’s best friend, Tony!

𝗠𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Head chef. Daily operational running of all aspects of the kitchen, back of house team and king of the BBQs.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺
I am a very open and honest person who is always willing to go the extra mile for anyone, be it a waiter, manager, porter, or customer. Nothing is ever too much hassle (apart from cooking the whole lambs on the BBQ).

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸
My favourite tipple has to be vodka. I'm yet to try the Cripps vodka, but have been told by a few guests that is smooth clean crisp taste.

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀
I don't have a favourite meal per say but when I make and serve the fresh focaccia bread you will always find me cutting a chunk off and slathering it with salty butter. For the mains it must be the Tarka Dahl. Living in Birmingham for most of my life I have become an aficionado when it comes to curry and the freshness of this dish is always a winner. Favourite pudding is usually the last one I ate but if I must choose then it's the lemon tart. Zingy, fresh, and always a crowd please.

Meeting some of the guests and always getting great comments is a boost for the whole team.

Standing with the bride as she is trying to hold back the tears before she heads down the aisle, this is such a special moment and keeping her calm while she awaits this is something I will never get bored of. It is magical.

Autumn – I just love the colours and the garden still looks amazing too! It’s hard to choose a favourite time at Thorpe Garden though as each season brings its own differences to the garden and with each season it is wonderful to be surrounded by such beauty. I am very lucky to be here every day!

My favourite part of the day is the first dance – each wedding is different so it is great to see some couples do a dance routine or see some couples panic and want to get everyone to join them on the dancefloor straight away! Either way, everyone is happy and full of life ready to kick start the night!

June. At Thorpe Garden – the garden looks stunning all year round but mainly in June when the wisteria is on the archway running through the centre of the garden. This always creates incredible picturesque moments for the happy couples and it is great to see.
