What a joy it was to lead the celebration of life for a powerhouse of a woman today at the gorgeous Shilstone House, which nestles amongst the lush rolling Devon hills. The sky may have been grey, but the room was full of sunshine and light, a reflection from all the love and joy emanating from the many guests who came to wave off this dancing queen 🪶🌻 ❤️ 👑

I don’t know what the cost is or if it’s yet available, but would love to see this becomewidely available. What do you think? Would you consider this alternative to traditional burial materials?

People are always looking to save money and I would support that, but in this instance…. 🤔 What about the personal touch, the warmth, the humour provided by a celebrant? I’m not sure it will catch on; except maybe for the AI geeks out there

Deyton Truitt, 26, and Reece Wiench, 23, from Colorado, had a machine lead their wedding ceremony, which delivered a touching welcome speech and closing remarks to 30 guests.

Celebrant meet ups ❤️ I love meeting up with my celebrant colleagues who have become friends, it really helps with the isolation of being in solo business, it’s great to chat all things celebrant, the highs and the lows, and there’s nothing better than polishing each others crowns. Shout out to my celebrant queens 👑 thank you Tina for a lovely catch up and fab lunch And Jen , my Somerset buddy.

Woodland Weddings 🌳❤️

Last week I was invited to join Lucy & Craig at Curated Canvas at their site at Noah’s Pond near Frome in Somerset. They have created the most lovely setting for woodland weddings alongside their fabulous tipi

💚 They have also taken the time to research and connect with local wedding suppliers who meet their ethos of providing a relaxed, friendly, fun yet sustainable service. They have done the hard work so you don’t have to (though of course you can choose your own suppliers)

💚 I was thrilled to be invited to be one of their recommended suppliers, and spent last Saturday with Lucy and Craig, meeting couples and explaining their options with a celebrant; which include a genuinely personalised, crafted ceremony which would make your day beautiful, fun, and memorable, especially in such a magical setting.

💐 The beautiful flowers are all grown locally, provided by the lovely sloany from Dawn to Dusk flowers and there are a host of other fab suppliers to check out if you speak with

💚 If you have dreamed of a woodland wedding, this venue provides the gorgeous setting with the security of a covering should the weather not play ball, followed with celebrations in the teepee with the most gorgeous views. Don’t take my word for it; why not check it out…

This is a really important change to the law to be aware of; young people under 18 were able to marry with permission, the law now states that no one can marry under the age of 18.
“As Wedding Celebrants, it's important that we understand the implications of this change to the law in England and Wales because it also covers 'non-legal' wedding ceremonies. Previously, it was only a criminal offence to marry under the age of 18 if it could be proven that coercion or threat had been used to force the marriage. With this new law, it is illegal for any 'child' under the age of 18 to marry - under any circumstances. “ (Jacqueline Cale - Celebrant Circle)

When a crafter passes away mid-project, or is no longer able to carry on due to illness, they will likely have a few unfinished items layng around. They may even have projects they were making for friends or family which may become lost, donated or thrown away.
The Loose Ends Project aims to match unfinished projects with volunteer finishers who complete and return the project to the intended loved one.
If you have an unfinished project from someone who is no longer with us that you would like to have complete, visit https://www.looseendsproject.org/ and fill out their form. They will then match you with someone in your country who may be able to help you.
Alternatively, if you have some time to give and would like to become a volunteer finisher, sign up on their website.

❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

In today’s episode of The Vegan Pod, we’re talking love and asking – would you have a vegan wedding even if it meant losing guests?

Joining us on this episode, we have Tomi Makanjuola, The Vegan Nigerian, vegan chef, writer and content creator, who had her vegan wedding at the end of last year, and Sian Bowron, who’s been running her wedding planning business, Amethyst Weddings, since 2012.

I just love this so much: rest easy … unless you just got engaged then you’ll be going into overdrive ☺️

I just love this so much: rest easy … unless you just got engaged then you’ll be going into overdrive ☺️

A reminder that according to Mother Earth, and our bodies' clocks, Jan 1 isn't the optimal time for new beginnings.
The Gregorian calendar that most of us follow was invented by a pope in the 1500's.
So if you're not feeling fresh start vibes there's nothing wrong with you.

In fact, slowing down and feeling inward right now means there's something very right going on with you.
You're in touch with the rhythm of the Earth, the sun, and your body.
This is a time of rest and reflection.

It's the time of the Fertile Void when it looks like nothing's happening but A LOT is happening under the surface.
So if you don't feel like planning or starting new habits, awesome! You're right on time.

Mercury just went into retrograde until Jan 18th and it's also the middle of winter.
The first new moon of the year is Jan 21, Imbolc is Feb 1, and March 21 is the first day of spring which is Mother Earth's day of new beginnings.

All that to say, rest well. Rest easy.
There's plenty of time for fresh starts and if right now doesn't feel like that day for you, there are so many more days to come that likely will.
We know for sure that spring always follows winter and we can rest in that knowing.

Thank you for the reminder… 💗

If your Somerset way, and looking for THE dress, do visit Susie at Bridal Reloved Street. Susie generously supplied me with a few dresses for a shoot and she couldn’t have been more helpful; she knew what would really work with what and what style would suit. You will be well looked after and there are so many wonderful dresses to choose from 💖
