Megan's Academy of Dance our Sister Company will be travelling to Blackpool on Friday to take part in the IDTA Nationwide Freestyle and Rock'n'Roll Finals.

Due to the majority of our MADhouse team consisting of dancers, sadly we will NOT be open over the weekend!!!!

Please note that we will be shut on the 11th and 12th of November 2023.

On the 1st September 2018. The MADHouse Taunton Ltd moved into Armada House (AKA The MADhouse).

We officially opened on the 28th December 2018 whilst still setting up the separate rooms on limited capital. Trying to build a little dream space for the community particularly catering for younger children.

*fond memory for many* Megan wandering around with her handheld Dyson hoover, hoovering under people's feet. (We were obsessed with keeping it clean, like we still are now!)

These past 5 years have been hard. Rent rising, bills rising; covid, lockdowns..... we cannot even go into depth the number of issues as a small independent business that we have faced. The hardship has been tough, when we reopened after the final lockdown, we thought this was it, we could come back with a fight but it has just become increasingly harder and harder especially with the current economic climate.

Our lease was being reviewed at our current venue and sadly we cannot continue where we are.

We love the MADhouse and are proud of what we created, so we are so sad to announce that we will be closing on the 28th february 2024.

All current parties until then will still go ahead as planned. (Please don't panic 🙏) We have taken all parties after that date off sale.

We are not sure if we will continue at another venue, we simply cannot compete with franchises and larger businesses our aim was always to offer a low price venue with multi-use options, something for the community. Especially constantly being compared, we never tried to compete with larger businesses we focused on our uniqueness and low prices and being affordable.

Megan's Academy of Dance which operates their classes from our venue will continue; we are unsure of their new venue but the dance academy has already been told.

*From Megan* I personally want to thank all of the customers over the past 5 years new and old who have visited us. I know for many we have been a lifeline. This place has become my life and even though some of the worst personal things have happened to me whilst running this place, some of the best things have happened and I would never change it for the world. I have made some amazing friends for life, and I love seeing people around town etc. Especially when people refer to the madhouse as my home 🫣🤣🤣🤣

I am so sad to have to say that this could be our final chapter. So don't regret or delay, come and visit us before its too late, show us why we should stay, not to mention it could be our final infamous Halloween party next Saturday.

Unfortunately, Megan the Principal of Megan's Academy of dance has broken her finger, and hasn't been able to do much dancing due to the pain and severeness of the break.

Therefore, sadly we are having to postpone this event. We are sorry for the disappointing news but we hope to offer this again as soon as we possibly can.
