It has been a while since we’ve done a “do and don’t” for storing your Wedding Dress after the big day!

🩵 Do 🩵

✔️ Get your dress professionally cleaned by a dry cleaner that specialises in Wedding Dresses (feel free to drop us an email if you’d like our recommendations)

✔️ Store your dress in a box made of pH neutral board - this prevents acidity and stops your dress from turning yellow. Luckily, that’s what we specialise in here at The Empty Box Company!

✔️ Gently fold your dress in tissue paper, using a sheet of tissue with every fold (head to our YouTube channel to watch our ‘How to Pack Your Dress’ video)

🩶 Don’t 🩶

✖️ Wait too long to get your dress cleaned, or never get it cleaned at all!

✖️ Leave your dress in a plastic bag (for any amount of time) or dress bag (long term). Plastic bags & dress bags will not protect your dress from much at all, especially not from yellowing, damage from the elements, dust, insects, humidity changes etc!

✖️ Shove, bunch, or bundle your dress to get it to fit into a container. Choose the correct size box (we have many different sizes to suit all dresses) and follow correct packing instructions (included with our boxes). If in doubt, always choose a box too big rather than too small!
