We’ve been working alongside our community committee to give Saltburn a free, pilot event which truly celebrates the borough’s LGBTQIA+ communities and allies 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

With a programme of creative, accessible and family-friendly activities to be announced soon - we hope you’ll join us in bringing Pride to Redcar & Cleveland this summer! ☀️🌊🌈

The fabulous Writers' Block North East offer a year long programme of workshops, mentoring, author masterclasses and meetings with agents. There are 14 places, including 4 reserved for working class writers.

They are kicking things off with a series of FREE taster workshops to help aspiring writers take the next step. Looking at plot, character, structure, these workshops will leave you fizzing with ideas and inspiration.

Over the moon to announce we are working with Saltburn Valleys on a ground-breaking outdoor art event as part of the Borderlands Creative Communities programme! 🎉
The Ha’penny Sound Walk in Saltburn Valley Gardens is an exciting collaboration with sound artists/musicians A Man Called Adam and Saltburn Valleys.
Internationally acclaimed electronic music pioneers A Man Called Adam [AMCA – Sally Rodgers & Steve Jones] are creating The Ha’penny Sound Walk - a bespoke 800 metre-long trail featuring 20 independent sound stations
It will take audiences on a haunting, surprising and sometimes mischievous journey of sound that starts with the natural landscape then moves on to reference elements including Victorian Saltburn, our industrial history, the demolition of the Ha’penny bridge and also contemporary Saltburn with its surf and café culture.
We’re dead chuffed to be involved and can’t wait to share more details in the coming weeks.
The Creative Communities Awards are designed to bring creative ideas to life across the cultural landscape of Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland and funded by Borderlands Creative People & Places as part of Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme.

Visually and musically they are startlingly accurate - using vintage equipment to faithfully recreate that unmistakable 80s sound. There’s even DIY fanzines and pin badges to complete the authentic fan experience and period vibe!
