Pinch, punch, first of the month!
September is a favourite month of mine, there’s a slight shift in pace alongside the shift in season and it’s very comforting 🍂
And without giving too much away, it could be a very very VERY exciting month for The Flower Hut - watch this space because we’ll be sure to take you with us every step of the way 🤔🥸

I can’t lie, wedding season is whooping my butt!
We’ve had 5 weddings this week and have been working through similar numbers for the last few weeks - and it has been utter flowery chaos
This definitely is not a grumble, I am super super grateful for you all keeping us so busy…but I’m even more grateful for your understanding and patience as admin has taken a little bit of a backseat (and I’m not quite working through quotes and proposals as quickly as I’d like)
Things do start to ease a little over the next few weeks, so please continue to bear with us….I promise it’ll be worth the wait

I’ve officially been self employed for 1 whole year!👩🏼🏫
You may not know that I juggled full time employment with running The Flower Hut for the first 3 years of business and my goodness was it utter chaos!
It was a conscious decision to not shout about this at the time, as I never wanted flowers to be seen as a “side hustle”, but it was a real juggle as things got very busy very quickly
So busy in fact, that last August I made the decision to go full time flowers - and what a year it had been!
I can now say that I earn a living doing what I love, so just want to say a huge HUGE thank you to each and every one of you that supports our little business, we couldn’t do it without you 🤍

….a couple of breakdowns, a few tears (sorry again ), but most importantly a WHOLE LOT OF LOVE
A HUGE thank you to all for including us in your special days across this utterly bonkers period, it has truly been everything we dreamed of
We have SO MUCH to share with you, but there’s no rest for the wicked as we prepare for another beautiful wedding on Wednesday, and catch up on outstanding admin too
We’ll definitely share lots soon though - I promise 🫶🏻

Pinch, punch, first of the month!
Spring is official here - well, meteorological spring anyway…please can someone tell the weather this!
All things flowery certainly ramp up this month…we’re in full swing preparing for Mothering Sunday next weekend, and planning ahead for more gorgeous weddings this month. Our flower patch will soon be bursting with life too!

Important Mother’s Day information….
We are of course aware that for some, Mother’s Day is extremely tough and our hearts go out to everyone who finds this time difficult 💗
For florists it is a very busy time of year, so there will be a number of posts from us regarding our Mother’s Day offerings over the next few weeks.
Please be assured that our upcoming promo posts aren’t assumingly just aimed at “mums”…
💗 they might be for your best friend who’s recently found out they’re to become a mum, or a friend who’s juggling new-mum life

🌸 SPRING WORKSHOP LAUNCH 🌸
We’re now live and taking bookings for our next workshop, where you can learn to make a gorgeous living spring wreath
Slightly different than our Christmas wreaths, we’ll run through new techniques of incorporating spring bulbs into your designs as well as the most gorgeous seasonal materials that you can enjoy for weeks after 🌸
As ever with our workshops, this will be a fun and relaxed couple of hours to switch off, have fun and come away with an amazing creation to adorn your door this spring.

VALENTINES DAY is just around the corner, and here’s 5 reasons why you should buy flowers this Valentine’s Day…
1. We deliver! Which means that a flowery treat can be extra special with the surprise of us knocking on the door. We’ll be out and about dashing across the Cotswolds so you don’t have to worry about a thing - if you’re not sure if we cover your area do just drop us a message to check 🩷
2. Valentine’s Day falls on a Wednesday - which means your loved ones may well be at work. Following on from reason 1, it’s always super special (and perfectly cringe) to walk into an office full of folk hoping the beautiful blooms are for them ♥️
3. It also falls in half term! We think there’s extra brownie points to be had for organising a surprise delivery to your loved one who might be attempting to entertain the little ones at home! 💕
4. We’re taking orders NOW, which means you can organise flowers in advance and know that’s everything sorted (apart from a lovely thoughtful card)❤️
5. We don’t just do red roses for Valentine’s Day. In fact, we take custom orders so can tailor bouquets to include favourite or sentimental blooms

We made it!! After a 739 day long January, February is finally here!
A month that brings a worldwide celebration of love, brighter mornings and lighter evenings and most importantly pancakes! 🩷
We take things up a level in February, flowering more weddings, Valentines is usually a pretty big day for us, and we’ll be spending more time at the patch prepping for the season ahead - depending on the weather there might even be a little bit of seed sowing!
It’s going to be another fab month, and we can’t wait to bring you along with us! 🩷

A little update on what we’re up to….
I have NEVER known a January like this - I am truly overwhelmed by the number of enquiries we are receiving!
That’s overwhelmed in the best way possible (and so grateful) but also overwhelmed meaning that it is taking a little while longer than usual to work through our workload.
We are working through proposals as quickly as we’re able to and as always are making sure that we send out lots of ideas, yummy moodboards, and all the information you might need 🤍
As well as day-to-day flowers, we’re booking in consultations in person and via video call and arranging lots of exciting site visits for upcoming events.
We also need to add improvement to our social media posting to our to-do list because we have SO much to show you!
We are SO grateful for you keeping us so busy and thankful for your patience and understanding too!

Soooo, the inevitable happened 🙈
We missed a day of our real wedding inspo week yesterday! It seems we were just too busy prepping for today’s wedding (our first wedding back this year - eeeeek), and the day just ran away from us!
BUT we’re nice and organised this morning so we have no excuse to not share a few stunning pics from Amy & Ross’s day last August
Amy’s bouquet consisted of all white roses - a variety called Playa Blanca which is just the perfect blousy white rose - not cream, WHITE 🤍
And all other florals followed this same brief, with minimal foliage keeping things super classic 🤍
Not only did everything look utterly gorgeous on the day, but it was all so beautifully captured by

Day 4 of our real wedding showcase week, and we’re now over half way!!
Our week couldn’t go by without featuring the gorgeous day of Millie & Brett who married last May
We flowered EVERYWHERE!! We created aisle meadows, an epic (if we can say so ourselves) broken arch, a fabulous cake meadow, gallery display, table flowers as well as bouquets and buttonholes - and we did not hold back when it came to the flowers and foliage used in these designs 🩷
We were spoilt for choice on seasonal flowers to use, and M&B were happy to let us work our magic, so it only made sense to go all out.

DAY 3 of our real wedding showcase week - and wow is this week flying by!!
This wedding was extra special for us - seeing amazing friends marry is honestly such a honour, and being asked to “do” the flowers is the cherry on the cake ♥️
Jake & Jodie’s flowers epitomised the best in season. Our flower patch was in full swing, and we were able to include so many locally grown flowers in all of their designs.
We kept things wild and natural, and focused on a few statement displays - including a gorgeous installation to sit across ‘s woodburner ♥️
J&J’s day was so honestly much fun - I don’t think any other colour palette would have worked so well ♥️
✨ top tip - don’t be afraid of colour!!! Colour doesn’t have to mean loud and garish! We can use colour to create classy, timeless displays that certainly pop against natural stone and wood we so often find in wedding venues 🌈
(it was SO hard choosing what pics too share from this album!! I had to keep reminding myself it’s about the flowers!)

Don’t worry, we didn’t forget!!
Day 2 of our real wedding showcase week, and the spotlight this evening is on Sarah and James who married last October at the stunning 🤍
S&J had a very clear vision of what they wanted flower-wise and it was so fab to work with them on this. We’re more than happy to help bring ideas together to create a vision for you…especially if you’re not quite sure where to start
BUT we also LOVE working to a precise brief if you know exactly what you want to go for 🤍
S&J’s florals consisted of all white roses and gypsophilia - perfectly understated and classically timeless, a combination that will never go out of fashion 🤍
✨ top tip - do what YOU want to do!! This is your day so please don’t let traditions or other people influence decision making. There is no right or wrong when it comes to your wedding day 🤍

DAY 1 of our real wedding inspiration week…and we just HAD to start with this absolute dream wedding!
With special permission, Jen & Alistair married at Marlborough College Chapel….the most breathtaking venue!! Paired with an incredible choir it was inevitable I was going to cry!
Flower wise, J&A opted for tones of soft blush, mauves blues and whites using the best of seasonal summer blooms 🤍
Along with bouquets and buttonholes, we created a statement broken arch, urn displays, aisle meadows and table centrepieces…all of which were repurposed after the ceremony
✨ top tip - repurposing your flowers throughout your day is one of the best things you can do…especially if you have a change of venue!
We moved all chapel flowers from Malbourough back to for their wedding breakfast and the barn looked equally as fabulous 🤍
J&A thank you so much for asking me to play a part in your special day - one that I will honestly never forget 🤍

What a bonkers first few days back!
Our inbox is FULL of new enquiries which is super exciting! We’re nearly at capacity for 2024 dates, so if you’re thinking of getting in touch please do 🤍

Merry Christmas Eve ✨🎄
We might decide to keep an eye on insta over the break, and we may share a little of what we get up to, but we’re now closed for flowers until the new year, and using the break as chance to recharge our batteries.
If you don’t hear from us over the break, we just want to take the time to say a mahoosive thank you for ALL of your support this year 🤍 it has been the biggest pleasure working with the loveliest clients, venues, local suppliers - you’ve all made it the best year 💚
I’m full of cold - pretty typical for Christmas now, so definitely going to enjoy some down time and rest over the next few days…ready to hit the ground running in 2024 (it’s looking to be pretty epic!)

Happy Birthday to our CEO 🎉💕 I joke that Dan is the CEO of the business…but we’re really not that organised to have fancy titles - it’s just my attempt at showing how big a part of the business he is 💕 This man celebrates every high with me, and feels the lows just as much as I do - if not more so! I am constantly pestering him with new ideas, questions and problems and he is the first to help, the first to give me the confidence boost I might need, and sometimes the first reign me in so I don’t get too carried away! Running a business is tough work…and I am so very lucky to have such an amazing support system that includes this amazing man - I couldn’t do it without you Happy Birthday ♥️
