What a beautiful wedding yesterday for Carlos and Justina at the beautiful Ufton Court. Extra special to photograph the first wedding to take place on the terrace at Ufton Court, surrounded by gardens and the dramatic tree line backdrop and under stunning blue skies it looked (and felt) like we were photographing a wedding in a stunning Italian setting - it looked spectacular. Beautifully dressed with stunning floral decorations by Willow & Blooms to really finish and complement this stunning wedding setting.
It’s always a risk planning an outdoor wedding here in the UK, but with this option at Ufton, I’d say that’s a risk well worth taking - they can always plan b to the beautiful barn if the English weather isn’t on your side!

How awesome is it to know you are valued!!

As a photographer I work with many regular clients and I am so grateful to each and every one of them for their continued loyalty in using me.
But I was stopped in my tracks today, receiving a Christmas gift from one of them, thanking me for the work I have done for them through the year.

The note reads “Thank you, Adam, from all of us at Viking.TV for your incredible production support throughout 2023 - we couldn’t do it without you“

Viking tv team, the wine looks lovely and I very much look forward to drinking/sharing it over Christmas - but more than that the kind words of appreciation and the feeling that I am valued put a huge smile on my face, and made one self employed photographer feel very much a part of a very big and hugely successful team that I am proud to be associated with.

A regular client of mine, Rebound Electronics, had an office refit so their space reflected their brand, and created an awesome space for clients, visitors and importantly their staff. Black & White or Colour, Smiling or Not Smiling?

Aimee is a professional dancer, who, after a dramatic but awesome change of hairstyle, needed a new headshot that reflected her new look.

These photos needed to show her as confident, poised and of strong character. Aimee needed to use the images in a variety of places, from prints to send to agencies through to a wide range of social media platforms.

With headshots, your photograph has mere seconds with which to make an impact, to create that engagement and to convey its desired message - so it’s important to get it right.

** PHOTOGRAPHY FAIL ** On my penultimate day in gorgeous Egypt, I decided to wake at 4am to watch and photograph the sunrise over the stunning river Nile. I chose to use my phone to do a Timelapse. I didn’t have anything to mount my phone with and there was nothing on top deck of the ship (up high) to balance my phone, so I used the arm of a chair - lower than I wanted, but I thought the ships hand rail would give some context of the ship I was on. In the low light, I balanced my phone framed up the shot, nice and wide to capture the sun rise and illuminate the scene. I set the phone to go, left it and went shooting with my actual camera. Later I returned to find the sun had risen (along with its reflection on the water) directly behind one of the bloody hand rail supports. Of all the places it could have risen!! I was off by a few millimetres. I might have sworn a bit, actually a lot!!! So after all that time, my Timelapse was useless. BUT, I did get to watch a breathtaking start to the day - even if my attempt at a Timelapse was a major fail. Anyway, I thought I’d share my tale of woe. We all make mistakes, even us “professionals”. So keep shooting, learn from what goes wrong and go again. Also, don’t think every shot I take or setup works or is perfect… I never stop learning Have a great day everyone, I’m going back to bed!!!
